I would link where I read it but I've been through a ton of articles about HTC and the Thunderbolt in the last day and the other phones announced for VZW at CES so I do not remember where I read the quote. None the less it will be at least slightly improved by the better processor and people are saying LTE takes more power to run, that may be true but nobody knows how much more and for all anyone knows it could be a wash after you consider in how much faster you get your more battery intensive web activities/streaming done. In the end whether or not it is that much of a difference the phone should still do about as well in the market, many people complain about the battery in the EVO or Incredible but only few actually boycott it for the battery issues.

there is absolutely no proof bionic will have efuse. that was a IBM technology that TI used, this not a TI chip.

as a matter of fact here are the known implimentations of efuse:

IBM POWER5 and POWER6 high end RISC processors
IBM System z9 and System z10 mainframe processors.
Sony/Toshiba/IBM Cell used in PlayStation 3
IBM/Microsoft Xenon CPU in the Xbox 360 game console.
TI OMAP3 based mobile phones and other devices [1]

its a more efficient processor though which is why its hopefully better battery life

Not to mention the newer processor is a hope for better battery, but also HTC claims it was a problem with the Incredible and EVO that they have since fixed. I would link where I read this quote from them, but I really can't think of where because I've been to a lot of different websites and forums in the last few days.

I would love to know where some of this info is coming from. The processor is the same exact 1ghz processor that came with the incredible. Nothing there. And for people who root, the processor becomes unstable when overclocked passed 1.15. Same about of memory (512mb). Only difference is the bigger screen/front camera and 4g. Oh and it comes with 32gb memory which the incredible should have came with in the first place. IMO not big enough of an upgrade hardware wise.

it's actually the next generation snapdragon, which can run at 1.2 ghz, 768 mb of ram. it's also going to be running the newest version of sense.

ah ok thank you. Im just trying to figure how it would be better. I wish it would have at least gotta 1gb of ram or something. Any documented difference about the processor even if its the same speed? Im just debating if i want to go dual core or stick with single. I love sense though

edit: thats in interesting choice of ram. why not just go a full 1gb, or leave it at 512???

Dude, if HTC hasn't fixed the "bump charging" issue (yes, I consider it an issue, not a safe guard) then I won't get an HTC phone as my next phone.

I guess we'll have to wait to see if the Bionic will be locked like the X and what the feasibility of kernel development for it is.

If the Bionic isn't locked down, has awesome battery life, I may get that, but not until next summer.

the bump charging is over blown...i never do it and the other day i got 50+ hours on one charge and my 1800mah cichitec battery. Whenever i take my phone of the charger its between 95-100% and drops slowly from there. If that is the reason to hold you back from buying the TB then you never will be happy enough with any companies phones i would guess

The Tegra 2 looks amazing, but I love Sense. I could get Launcher Pro but I'm going to wait and see how the battery life on this thing actually is after a month of being out. Hopefully they will release a car dock for this thing.

Well as for the processor, the new MSM8655 has a newer GPU, the Adreno 205, which is a major improvement over the QSD8650 in the EVO and Incredible. The CPU itself is similar not a major improvement but it is 45nm instead of 65nm, so it's more power efficient, won't heat up as much under the same circumstances, and from what we've seen with the Desire HD it can seriously overclock with no problem, I've seen up to 1.5+ GHz, not sure if that's the highest it's been overclocked though (the MSM8255 in the Desire HD is essentially the same as the MSM8655 but doesn't support CDMA).

And as for the ram, 768MB sounds odd for ram but really it's not, 512 + 256 = 768. The Incredible also has 768MB of ram. And for the people confused about why you want more ram, Android uses the ram for applications that you've launched but are not currently in. So if you launch Facebook, go to someone's profile, then press home, and do something else for a while, but want to go back to that person's profile, when you press facebook it takes you right back where you were instead of closing the application when you left. When applications are sitting in ram they do not use up battery life because they aren't actually running and the processor isn't doing any work, but every time you open an app and close an app that will use the battery, that is why people say that you don't need task killers, it could potentially hurt your battery life although in reality it's uncertain if it's a noticeable amount of battery lost when closing applications. The more ram you have the more apps you can have in ram without android having to close certain applications in order to free up space for newly launched applications, and potentially using more battery. If you go to settings -> applications -> running services, you can see at the bottom how much ram is being used (red), ram being used for apps can be closed to free up space (yellow), and how much free ram you have available (green). I'm pretty sure that's how it works you can check the official android site and read about it.

I was really excited for this phone because its 4G, but the more I think about it the less enthusiastic I get about it. I now want a dual core Honeycomb handset. Hopefully something like that is released Q2 of this year?

i find that hard to believe unless you never use your phone. 50+ hrs? idk I had an inc with an 1800 mah battery and to get through a day was tough so unless you barely use the phone i cant see this being true

I use the stock 1300mAh battery with my Incredible and I've never had a problem with battery life. I charge it every night and at the end of the day there's usually 40-55% left, the battery indicator is almost always still green. I rarely see it red or yellow (below 30%), and the only things that I have noticed take a lot of battery are playing games for more than an hour, or talking on the phone for more than an hour. I can browse the web for a while without any noticeable drop in battery and one time I even forgot to turn off Wi-Fi when I was leaving the house and I didn't have any problems with battery life. I don't use my phone a lot but I certainly don't leave it in my pocket all day, and I seem to be a very rare exception. The 5 other people I know with Incredible's claim they get terrible battery life, but they are all girls and hardly know how to manage their phone.

it was on wifi all of that time since i have been off work for the past 2 weeks and it was just used for email mostly and some occasional other light use. Not my normal usage but i was still impressed with the battery life. And i am certainly enjoying my 2 week vaca lol

Normal use i still get thru a day unless im at work for a 12 hours shift when i get a shitty 3g connection.

Edit, this is with Virtuous 3.2 and Lous #6 kernel. the kernel is fantastic for anyone that is into this stuff, give it a try

my friend with an inc who doesnt really know a lot about android or phones said that the battery life before was awful when he first got it then there was an upgrade and it works fine for him now. I'm assuming he was talking about the upgrade from 2.1 to 2.2 which I believe fixed the battery issue for a lot of people

anyone know where I can find the actual measurements of the phone? LxWxD? I know I saw it somewhere before but for the life of me I cant find it now.
