Has anyone had any luck with getting Swype to work on this ROM? Everytime I start it up after installing it I get an error message saying it will not work with the device and will only work with limited functionality. Any idea's?

Try reinstalling Swype. You will need the latest Swype installer. Or you can use the Nov Swype Installer. There are a lot of steps but they are pretty straight forward. Good Luck

so I followed these instructions, but am unable to install this ROM correctly.

I had an up to date Verizon DROID phone, rooted it using the procedures followed in other thread, and was able to run Titanium backup and other various root aps.

I then installed ROM manager, installed the recovery feature, and wiped the phone several times. I then tried to install the ROM from ZIP, and this is what I get every time:
Code:
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
Installing system...
Writing boot image...
assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img","boot")
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

Eventually, I tried booting the phone, and can see the new interface (really nice looking ROM!). So I guess the ROM installed partially since I did get that error message. However, it looks like I don't have root access anymore, since I can't run Titanium now, or even SetCPU.

Any suggestions?

Given what I've seen with other gingerbread ROM's it looks like there are still some kinks that have yet to be worked out. I briefly ran CM-7 for a few hours and it was nice but not without bugs.

I imagine once the problems get worked out and fully functioning ROM's get circulated, there will be a crapload to choose from...Charity included.
