Hey, i searched many threads on android forum but i get different answers and all that. so i was hoping someone who did some great research on this can help me (us) all out in one thread...

1. at home is it better to have WIFI enabled all the time and then when you leave your house 3g/H takes over?

2. is it ok to have GPS on all the time? (i read that it only uses GPS when an app needs it??? true? i think so!?)

I use juice defender too by the way. basic setup.

Obviously, why use your data plan when you can use your wifi.

Up to you, but don't see the point if you're not using it.

If you want to conserve your battery life turn everything you don't need off it's pretty simple, hence the 'vague' answer above :). If you want to get more into it, look into apps like Autokiller, Advanced Task Manager, Juice Defender also look into rooting and flashing the phone with a different rom, and removing features like face recognition.

This is a thread I wrote a while ago, it's a little outdated as it was written (if i remember rightly) before the phone was rooted and when it was on 1.6 but have a look:

Using the methods in here, and on a rotted phone with a custom ROM I have had 4 days battery life with light use (quite a bit of messaging, couple of calls, bit of browsing and a picture or 2) out of my handset.
