hi well as you all know the droid has a few screens that u can customize. but from what i see you can only use like one wallpaper and its spread out amosgt the three. ex. the american flag : 1st screen... stars and end left flag. 2nd screen.... stripes. 3rd screen...stripes and end right corners of flag.

i want one to be me and my girlfriend.
one to be me and friends
and last one to be Hellsing:cool:

so is what i want possible? i hope so....

and if so...do i need an app and whats its name. thanx guys and merry christmas:eek:

Not possible, from everything I've seen and used. The problem is, the wallpaper actually kinda scrolls along with the desktops. So it's not actually like the wallpaper is exactly 3 times the width of the DROID screen. Otherwise, you could just merge 3 wallpapers into one, then use that. That still may be an option for you, and would work at some level.

Got PhotoShop? ;) (Obviously you could use any photo editing s/w to do this.)

It would be a great idea, but it actually wouldn't work. The background doesn't scroll all the way.

The screen itself is 480 x 854, but the wallpaper for the phone is 960 x 854. 960 / 3 = 320.

See what I mean?

On the flip side... and I might as well quote this here since it is directly related...

thats the stupidist thing ive ever heard....i cant belive there isnt an app for this...

There are some home replacements which seem to scroll further than others. If memory serves me correctly, Home++ is one of them. You might want to play around a bit and see what you get for results.

You can take the 3 pictures and use any photo editing software to make them one image with the resolution of 960x854, you will see parts of all 3 pics on the middle homescreen but as you slide back and forth a little more will be revealed.

And before you choose a phone read up on it next time and what it's capabilities are, it will save you much time and frustration when you find out it doesn't do something you want it to.

For some reason if you don't know the features of the phone already, I sincerely doubt you have the ability to develop an application for Android either. It wouldn't be a simple job, you would have to reconstruct the whole UI of the home interface.

He found it simple to complain, so let's see if he finds it simple to overcome. I"m with you on this...but lets see if we will be shown otherwise.

I think lovebritty is just going to design his own wallpaper. BUT, a month??? Yikes! What are you using? ... MS Paint? :p It only took me 3 hours to create a 210 frame custom boot animation and get it installed on my DROID.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFqqqsj1Z4w

You are such a noob. It took me about 3 minutes and I had an absolutely beautiful boot animation for my phone.

Of course... I just downloaded it from the nexus dump, whereas you actually made yours. And I do love that shake effect on the words. Mine just kind of splashes colors. And yours is unique, whereas everyone that felt like downloading the nexus boot has the same one as me. Hmmmmm.

:D

The wallpaper for most android devices is twice the width of the phones screen. The left side of the image is the left home screen, the middle of the image is the middle, and the right is the right.

From what I can tell there currently isn't a way to divide the home screens in such a way that they have separate backgrounds, but if you layer a single image properly, you may be able to get an effect similar to what you were hoping for.
