Help App that hides photos in your gallery?

What is the app that can hide certain photos from being seen? I have seen people post about it a while ago and never thought I would need it but I think I am gonna need it at some point! LOL! Thanks!!

I don't know about an app but if you have a file manager (I use Astro, works well) look through your folders for a file titled .nomedia and copy it into the folder with "questionable content" you don't want to show up in your gallery. From what I understand this is a command that tells gallery there's nothing worth looking for in this folder. Not sure if that's 100% correct but I know it works for me. I don't remember where I coppied it from, but I can vouch for the fact that it works. It's slightly labor intensive (look, look, look, found it, touch finger to screen, select copy, navigate to folder with content, touch finger to screen, select paste), but it's just one less app to eat up memory.

BTW not saying you didn't but just in case, the labor intensive part was pure sarcasm.

This is simply an empty text file named .nomedia without and extensions. I created it with notepad on my pc and copied it to the phone. Works great. I also found it much easier to hook the phone up to the pc and drop the .nomedia file where ever needed.

Vaulty Free works great for me. Password protects all your "questionable" pictures also.

No I am not married but I have recently started dating someone and I do have some questionable photos on there from other females and I guess the right thing to do is to delete them but I don't want to right now! LOL! Besides I like to show people photos on my phone from time to time and I don't want anything accidently showing up in the gallery!!!

I actually went with Vaulty Free and that seemed to do the trick! LOL! Thanks for the suggestions! Glad I got it because the new female friend wanted to see some pics that were on my phone tonight! That was right on time getting that app! HA HA!!!

Does the .nomedia option keep music from being recognized by the player also? The photos that I'd like to hide are all of the album art pictures, all in separate folders (lots of gallery entries!).

Or, does anyone have a better suggestion for organizing album art?

I know if you have a file manager such as Astro, just put a period(.) in front of the file name. It will hide it from the gallery and you can still find it in your filemanager.
