Refreshed Nexus S coming? SMH

Samsung is a joke. If this is indeed true why didn't they just release the Nexus S the first time around with T Mobile 4G radios? Same thing with the Vibrant. Supposedly there is a new Vibrant being released with everything the 1st Vibrant didn't include.

I agree with you statement but unfortunately its a business.. Just ask Apple every year they get them with a simple upgrade that could have been added before. Look at what there doing with the iphone on verizon. No lte, i bet you in july there will be one with lte. They hold stuff back on purpose so you will keep upgrading, its a joint effort between the manufacturer and the provider to keep you upgrading.

the one that went through fcc was using tmo's band.. Not cdma

Right, that was slightly different context part (NS, VzW or no).

SamFirmware saying Samsung will be talking about Android updates also makes me want to take leap and guess it may be Wiz'd. Like... run, don't walk to buy this cool new phone, we assure you we'll be updating it.

So, do we think it's just a 4G upgrade?

Therefore, in the UK it will be of no benefit...

my thoughts exactly. i'm from and travel a fair amount to the U.S. but am now based in London for the next several years at least. so for me an unlocked Nexus S, and when I'm in the U.S. being limited to Tmobile 3G, was perfectly suitable.

btw, i've heard 4G is a ways off for the UK (2012?)..is the same true for continental Europe?

surely google wouldnt let samsung do it.....if it is it will some sort of varient with touchwiz all over it..similiar to the nexus one and the desire both basically the same phones but the desire was released by HTC only with sense ui on it....surely if htc decided to slightly redesign the Nexus one by just swapping the touch buttons with real buttons surely samsung will do the same...??

Exactly, it has to be new.. Also it woudnt go through FCC for a simple color change (i could be wrong)

I agree, they don't need to go through FCC to change the color. Otherwise HTC would need to do a bunch for all the MyTouches out there not to mention all the other manufacturers. What about the companies that make replaceable covers? If they needed to go through FCC for that they'd be bombarded. It's a new phone all together. Either a revamped NS or something else.

Can't Europeans already get the NS from CarPhone Warehouse in the UK? I thought it was exclusive to them and Best Buy here in the US.

Lol. Europeans. Europe is not a country. I do not feel in any way related to other countries in Europe. Only the UK got it, other countries in Europe will follow in Q1 2011.

This is probably just the Super Clear LCD version of the Nexus S. Nothing special. Maybe they give us (I live in the Netherlands) an option to choose the colour. (I read something about 'Silver Black').

I reckon that the I9020 is the samoled version that the US and the UK got, which were both released within a few days of each other and the I9023 is the SLCD version is what the rest of europe/world will get in the 1st Q of 2011,there is no way google would allow a new nexus so soon, can you imagine how many people in the US and UK that would p**s off!!!!....i could imagine a fair few nexus owners jumping ship to ios4.....

Its would be logical that google would wait to come out with a new version of a phone they just released. While logical it may seem, if you look at the this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrAjgYDx7yU

you will notice st 27 seconds that the phone looks as if it has a flip out qwerty. My guess would be that they will be coming out with a nexus s that has a qwerty keyboard. As far as new radios for hspda+ I couldn't say.
