Guy I need your help. I just tried to root my phone using autoroot from xda and it failed now I can't get my phone back to stock I have tried to go to follow directions and and when it tells me to hold the power button and volume down for fast boot is goes strait to HBOOT then it fails after that can some one help me get this back to stock please it will look bad if I go to work at the Sprint store with a bricked phone.

Right above the quick method - "This will only work if your phone came with hBoot version .9x"

That warning is there for a reason. So, you still have hboot 2.02, and you can get into hboot itself? If that's the case, you're in good shape. Download this file:

MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

You must rename this file to PC36IMG.zip, exactly. Make sure it doesn't accidentally get renamed to PC36IMG.zip.zip or anything (windows hides extensions by default). Connect your phone to the computer, and select hboot usb. You should able to browse your sdcard from the computer that way. Copy the PC36IMG.zip to the root of the sdcard. Reboot the phone back into hboot. it should scan for the PC36IMG.zip file, and prompt you to flash it. Once it is done flashing, you should be back to square one. This will wipe everything on the phone. Of course, autoroot already does that, so this just reinforces that fact. Let me know if you have any questions about this or if it doesn't work.

ya I'm a dumm ass for thinking that this would work after the warning, my mind saw quick install and that all. Thank you for your help I still want to root this phone I guess I need to slow down and do what they say for the hboot 2.02. But thanks again still downloading what you told me so hopefully I will be ok after that

Hmm. Well, the fact that you can get to hboot is good. Running the PC36IMG should fix it. Let me know if that works.

EDIT: I didn't expect it to boot. I was just curious what state it was in. I'm not positive on what it's trying to do at this stage. I'm not completely familiar with the autoroot process. It sounds like it's trying to get to recovery, which doesn't exist.

I downloaded the file you told me to then renamed it like you told me to. I then pushed the volume down and the power button , as soon as I did that it showed the hboot and everything under that but went straight to the hboot. I pushed no then go to hboot usb then push the power button then it starts and I'm waiting then hboot USB yes and radio v2 is still failing

Sorry, I'm having some computer trouble and have to type this from my phone.I'll have to look at this in the morning I'm afraid. It sounds like autoroot copied a pc36img and keeps prompting you to flash it. You need to replace that with the one you downloaded. Sorry I don't quite understand what you're saying is happening when you go to hboot usb. If you have a card reader of some sort that might be easier for the time being.I'll have to help more in the morning.
