Root [ROM] Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo | RLS 5 [1/7/11]

Try installing rom manager if you havent already, and click on fix permissions, once its done, just press the power button and do a normal reboot, and hopefully that'll help. that has happened to me a few times while going back and forth between roms and kernels and sometimes forgetting to do a wipe.

Didn't help, but thanks for the suggestion.

That's odd. I'm not on myn's now, but if I get a chance later, I'll flash it, then try to flash the browser and see if it's not working for me either.

If you do decide to do that, I would be very interested in knowing how it turned out. Just to be clear on what happens with my setup, although I CAN double tap and get a tightening up of the words and the whole page enlarges, it does NOT show the entire post (area tapped on) within the enlarged screen area as it always did "for me anyway" prior to rooting.
That was so slick too....and from what I remember it took EVERYTHING that couldn't be fit onto the enlarged screen area (after double tapping) "from left to right" and put it at the bottom so you didn't have to scroll over to the right to read the whole post/comment/whatever. All this was done in Portrait and Landscape modes (as I remember it).

Wow!! My problem with this ROM/Browser got so bad that I couldn't get any web page loaded for some reason. I tried just 3G, tried WiFi, cleared all browser cache, cookies...etc, but still couldn't load up any web pages. It wasn't an connection problem either because I could load the market up and download apps...etc. I went back to an old backup with stock Rom and everything is now fine. Really strange.

This rom has adfree flashed in the Rom. install adfree and update the host files and it will fix the problem. The problem is the host files have expired. That's why flash sites don't load or take forever to load.

Thanks for that info, but I dought if I'll go back to myns. It's already cost me waaay too much time and effort just troubleshooting it and having to go back to an old backup.

Out of nowhere, my browser decided to start to move at a snail's pace. I tried WiFi and 3G and it took FOREVER to load all sorts of pages that used to load in a flash.

I tried clearing the browser cache and cookies, no change.

I tried clearing the phone's cache and dalvik cache, no change.

The rest of the phone seems to be running just fine and I have been running my current ROM/kernel combo for a week or so now without having any of these issues. Suggestions before I load a nandroid?

Seems like this happened to all of us at the same time. Go up to post 456.

Thanks. That seems to have fixed it, though I still feel like there is a hiccup that wasn't there before. Could very easily be psychological, though.

I should update my profile through the settings menu as well?

Couldn't hurt. I update profile/prl whenever connections seem a little off. Sometimes it helps... and sometimes it doesn't. I've had mine connected via Wifi since I've been home [noticed the slow browser speeds while at work in a different county when on 4g]. Plan on trying it out tomorrow in same location to see if the adfree fixed it to my satisfaction. Perhaps, if i notice any hiccups, then I might update profile.
Maybe try a reboot to fix the bug you that think is still hanging around. Although, I do tend to think something is a glitch and later realize it was just me being over critical.:)

Any idea how I can remove adfree from the ROM? The update and reboot did not seem to work. Adfree seems like more trouble then it is worth.

Go to settings>applications>manage applications, choose adfree and uninstall it.

That will not work because the host files are hard coded into the rom.

The way to get rid of the host files and get the ads back and avoid this problems in the future is to use root explorer.

With root explorer, go into /system/etc and delete a file named hosts. This will resolve the issue now and in the future. Always nandroid before you mess with system files. This is just a warning just incase.

If this helps, HIT The Button.....DO IT , DO IT

I did notice a slow down yesterday but figured it was Sprint's network. I keep the host files up to date on ad free. After I delete the hosts file will I have an issue with updating?

Thanks
