Root Root before VZ service?

There is none....however some people switching providers or swapping phones but haven't activated yet may want to get a jump on things

Exactly. I am switching from a Droid to a Fascinate. I planned to give my sister my Droid but wasn't going to see her for a few days. I was gonna get a jump start on things in the mean time. My plans went out the window though. The phone I bought was on the stolen list so now I'm returning it to the seller until the 2nd fascinate comes in. Also, the root guide for the fascinate is a little more abstract than the Droid so until I find a guide I can understand I'm gonna wait on rooting.
