I currently have 1 year left on Sprint contract and have an Android phone.. Yes I know Verizon is getting the Iphone 4 in Feb.. I was thinking about paying out the rest of the ETF and going to the Iphone on Verizon, however not for sure I should do it.. Should I just wait a year and see what bugs come out and see if a newer Iphone comes out on Verizon by 2012?? Need help what should I do ??

Thanks,
Dx

you currently have an android(superior phone) on sprint(superior company, network size notwithstanding). and you want to go to an iphone on the network that unnapologetically bends their customers over the counter and shakes them for their change.

do whatever you want, but the fact that you are posting this in an android forum tells me that you know deep down in your heart that going to the i-phone is a bad idea.

I couldn't imagine switching companies to buy a phone that doesn't even support VZW's LTE speeds. I'd wait. I can't wait to get a sweet Android phone...i'm gonna play the waiting game till my ATT contract is up in Oct and see what's out by then for ATT and VZW

Thanks for heads up.. After doing some looking this morning I think the best idea is to wait and keep my android phone.. Sorry If I offended anybody on these boards didn't mean to.. Thanks!

what eye-beam said... sort of.

I read as oposite of the way he did. i figured you may want people to convince you to stick with the lil green robot, or you would have gone to some iphone forum.

I don't know why some people is giving this person a hard time. He posted this in the right section. Last I read the lounge was for anything non android and would figure iPhone would fall in that category. If you hate the iPhone then don t even post in this thread as the op even put iPhone in the thread title.

To the op why do you want an iPhone? Is it because you want the status symbol of owning one or you think it can offer something android can't? I would wait till iPhone 5 comes out and see why that has to offer. That way you save money on ending your contract early with sprint.

as one of the people who questioned him i can tell you it was not an is not my intent to "give him a hard time". rather, i honestly voiced my initial thought, that such a post may be of ill intent. it wouldn't be the first time that someone has come to the forums to troll iphone-vs-android hate. i did not treat it as thought that was the case however, as you will see, i addressed the OP with my own opinion legitimately,

"iphone is inferior to android, and verizon is not good to do business with."

so, while i voiced a concern, i did in fact take the OP seriously. perhaps the problem is in my wording. sorry, i'm far from perfect.

Hey All .. Sorry to create an uproar.. Yes I know this was an Android site and wasn't mean to bash anything.. Like a poster above said I thought "The Lounge" I could post anything.. I have a Samsung Moment and "yes" I do like it alot.. However sometimes I have connection problems with Sprint and dealing with them sometimes is a headache.. I just thought with the Iphone 4 coming on Verizon network (pretty good in my opinon) I thought it might be good idea to switch however thinking about it more and doing some research today I may just hold over until end of year to decide as see what bugs come out of the Verizon Iphone4.. Again I wasn't trying to bash Android owners or anything just wanted to ask a casual question.. I do appreciate all the posts and opinions tho :) .. Thank you

Don't join the mess of idiots that are going to buy up the iphone 4 on Verizon only to see an LTE iphone 5 come out in 6 months. I am not a fan of the iphone but if someone is not going to consider Android and wants my advice, that's what I am going to tell them.

iPhone 5 isn't going to have LTE capability...lol. How ridiculous is that.

im not sure it was much of an uproar as a misunderstanding, which shouldnt be a big deal. more of a no harm no foul. my opinion on verizon stands, though i understand if it's a coverage thing. i personally like sprint for the unlimited plan, and i have no problems with signal. verizon however, burned me on the customer service end to the point that of all of my friends only one is still with them. the rest are with me on sprint and loving the $$$savings. as for the handsets,(hold on a sec and let me put on my fire-******ant coat), i think the samsung galaxy S2 could be a winner*ducks*. i'm also keeping my eye out for handsets with the glasses free 3D that have been floating around rumorland(who knows if they will ever come stateside or which carrier will have them.) there are a lot of exciting developments which, iphone bugs aside, you would miss out on by going with the iphone.

i take it that you have a hero then?

what, other than flash(which would be solved by getting a new android phone) bothers you about it?

I have an iPhone 3GS, best phone I've ever owned but i hate that i don't have Flash for the web. I hate syncing with iTunes. I hate having to be tied to one computer to be able to copy music to it. I've had the iphone for almost a year and a half now...just want to try something different. My friend just got an Incredible and he loves it.

Don't worry about them as all forums are filled with them. Just remember the golden rule don't feed the bears.

I for one never had a problem with Verizon service but not saying I never will. As with any customer service for any company you have the good with the bad. Its the luck of the draw on who you get.

There are many improvements coming to the android os but I guess that's becase they don't have it for one device. So all the manufacturer out there is trying to get your buisness by being cutting edge over the others. Where as apple seems to depend on their name to sell their devices and lock their os to one product that they make. Not saying apple sucks as I love my touch but they limit their products to basically keep it in house. Sure they come out with great new stuff but then the other people takes that and improves it.

I will prob try one of the new HTC phones that's dual core next year and give moto a rest. As I hear good things about them.

I will never own an iPhone as I have a touch and who own the same product that the only thing different between the two is one makes a phone call.

I thought iTunes you could have up to 5 computers to load stuff on to the iPhone. I hear ya though it sucks having to sync everything on the phone just to add or remove most stuff. As far as flash its a waste on my d1it just lags my phone and kills my battery faster. Don't know how the newer ones handle it. I think its more of a gimmick on Google's side to get more customers from at&t and apple.

I'm not sure what the point is of being allowed to connect to multiple computers...unless there's some new thing I don't know about, if I try to add songs from my mac here at work it will want to wipe out all the songs currently on there just to put the new tracks on. I understand trying to control piracy but its ridiculous being so restricted. I want drag and drop functionality on any computer.

I hate going to a site and not being able to see something cuz of flash...come October I'm sure flash video sites will run fine on the faster phones.

Jailbroken I can copy it into a certain folder on my phone and listen through another app though...but i want to be able to do that without being able hack stuff.

Sorry I forgot that your right it will wipe what's on the phone if use a different computer. Have you looked into some free programs that will allow you to drag and drop music on to the iPhone /touch and delete and not have to use iTunes. What I do on my touch.

If I may, I would recommend ModMyi to you. It is a forum that is all about iPhone (well Apple stuff, but mostly iPhone).

If I also may make a suggestion, wait a bit before you get the phone. Not because there is something new coming out (although I am sure there is), but because we don't know what to expect with the (potential) addition of tons of customers activating a billion iPhone 4's day one. To be honest, I think expectations will far exceed actual numbers, but it wouldn't hurt to play it safe.

For what it's worth, I don't think they have announced their iPhone package (monthly rates) just yet. Not sure if money is an issue (for some it is not, is why I say this), but I would want to know exactly what I was getting into before considering terminating another contract.

You are able to link up to 5 (I think that is the numbers) computers/iTunes installs to your main account to get around this. Not sure if this is something you WANT to do, but it is an option. This way, it won't wipe all of the data on the phone if you are swapping back and forth between computers. I agree, this isn't ideal (nothing iTunes is ideal IMO), but it does work.

You say the phone is the best you have ever owned and then go on to list only things you hate about it?
