Getting anxious for Froyo 2.2 NC update

You can't have Flash on a mobile device. Flash isn't open!!

Huh? Are you joking? If not, I don't understand (and I need to change my avatar :D).

I've got flash running on my Archos 70 tablet (running 2.2), had it on my Droid 1 (running 2.2), will have it on my Fascinate when it gets 2.2 (in 2012 maybe LOL) and then I'm definitely going to have it on whatever Dual Core device that comes out soon and peaks my interest. You have an incredible running 2.2 right?...it's available for your device as well.

Why so anxious? What features of Froyo are you wanting on the NC?

Marketplace and apps (without having to root). Also curious what other new features might be included in the update. I have been afraid to root (both NC and DINC), and hoping the 2.2 update would offer more Android apps and widgets without rooting.

I don't think the 2.2 update will have the real Android Market. I'm even skeptical that a different launcher would be available with the official 2.2 upgrade by B&N which would make widgets non existent. I can't see B&N giving the option to disable the Nook UI. If they did, I would think this would be a major overhaul and the January timeframe would be an agressive timetable.

I can be wrong, well I hope I am at least.

I would be completely blown out of my socks if they put a full version of the marketplace on the Nook. They DO NOT want people putting the Kindle app and other e-reader apps on their device and they don't want people overhauling the interface with another launcher. I can completely understand their reasons why too.

Did you get your nook?

There's a long story with that involving lots of drama actually. :( The short answer is no. The long answer is the guy I bought it from was supposed to have shipped it last Wednesday so I would get it last Saturday. He didn't and he doesn't have a clue what's going on with the package really. He thinks it's supposed to be delivered today, but it'll require a signature. I had it shipped to my home address because I expected it Saturday when I'd be home. Since I won't be there today as I'm working, I'll probably have to pick it up tomorrow afternoon at the post office. So I should get it tomorrow.

Agreed!

This is worse. It's craigslist. Guy can't seem to give me a tracking number for some reason and it was supposed to be here Monday. Of course now it's Thursday and the mailman has come and gone. No package and no post card indicating they tried to deliver one. I am becoming increasingly convinced that I'm never going to see my NC or my $200 ever again.

Dude, I certainly hope not. You got a good deal for $200 just consider the $50+ you save as payment for a lesson in patience. :p You'll get your nook color.

Depends on where he sent it from. I think priority is 3 to 7 days. But at this point...I would be skeptical as well cause he can't provide a tracking number.

No Nook and no postcard indicating they tried to deliver. I'm more than tempted at this point to break my cardinal rule and actually pay retail for something. I kind of wanted this as a birthday present for myself, but it is not looking like it will get here in time for that. I might cry right now. :(

Is there some way to get your money back if this guy is a scammer? I don't use Craigslist so I don't know what kind of protection is in place for the buyers. You can dispute the charge if you used paypal.

If it's driving you that crazy, go to B&N or Best Buy and pick one up for $250. 50 bucks is not worth your sanity LOL.

Ha! You have no idea how little my sanity is worth.

You have to stop payment or file a complain with whatever bank cashed your check. I would definitely let craigslist know he's a scammer.

I'm genuinely upset for you! Dude, file a complaint and get your money back first because I don't think the nook is worth $450!

I don't get the feel from this guy that he's a scammer, but he does strangely neglect to respond to any emails I send him asking for any tracking information. All other emails he responds to fairly promptly with promises to look into it or updates into what he's found, that type of thing. He claims that he contacted the post office today and they told him the package should've been delivered on Wednesday and that they're opening a case to track it. I'm going to call my post office in the morning to see if they're holding it and the letter carrier didn't leave me a post card telling me. I'm not happy about this at all. I paid him through Paypal though so I can open a dispute up with them if I need to.
