I downloaded and installed the update last night and now my camera app and music app won't work, when I select them it is followed by a black screen for like 4secs with like 3 or so vibration feedback vibraions then an error comes up, I've rebooted several times to no avail. Please help me out, I'm new to this crap lol also this is off topic but if samsung was so happening planning to release 2.2 legitly OTA, would I have to do anything to my phone like dp a factory reset or something? I just don't want to mess anything up!

There are a lot of topics with tutorials and they can be pretty confusing. The most reliable method is to use Odin3 to reflash your Epic back to the stock rom. There's a good step by step method for doing that in this topic:

You may as well wait a few days for the OTA update and see if Sprint/Samsung (not sure who makes the call) decides to be nice and give access to DK28 people as well. They likely won't, though, but if you're wary of using Odin it's worth waiting to see.

There may also be an easier method to just update to the official 2.2 release from DK28 that materializes soon.

Soon?? We're deep into January 2011 nearly February and I don't see it yet.

I'm having problems with DK28: audio chatters (doubletwist and builtin Music Player), streaming audio drops out more frequently (doubletwist and TuneInRadio); Power off/on causes causes widgets to disappear (Evernote, Calendar, builgtin "Feeds and Updates"), and "Stay Awake" [while charging] setting resets. Phone occasionally crashes while dialing from Call Log, "Settings->applications->Development->Stay Awake [while charging]"

However most features of 2.2 work fine, and: 4g works, camera works fine though slow to start, builtin Calendar widget works, Sound Player can be resumed properly, tethering still doesn't work.

So I appreciate your [nemt's] posting the link to revert to DI18 Eclair. I'm on the fence...
