Root One Click Root For FROYO Intercept for WINDOWS!!

You litterally have to just keep trying...and throw in a couple reboots. And sometimes I think I woke it up and kept it running by openning up explorer type apps on my phone (but that was probably just my imagination). Took about and hour or so to finally have it go all the way to finish. NEver would have kept trying except I heard that many other people had that trouble as well.

Good luck!

Tried this and had quite a range of results, with none being seemingly successful..

Everything downloaded fine, and after about 5-10 times of trying it finally said it worked, and gave me the prompt to restart the phone. Went on with it, phone restarted, and nothing seemed to happen. No busybox app, or anything that indicated it worked. Then I realized I hadn't downloaded any drivers (which may have already been on there, as when I ran the BAT file it showed the device show up).

So now I download the drivers and try it again, after several attempts it said it worked. Yet when I restarted the phone it started acting EXTREMELY (and still currently is) laggy, and the phone will barely function properly without the battery having to be taken in and out and still no seeming root.

Am I missing something that shows I'm rooted? Anyone else have this problem or am I just lucky number one..?

EDIT:

Taking into consideration the problems I've already had, would it be any use to try this form?

Thanks in advance, first post here and hoping it's not my last!

I've been too chicken to try. Do you have a superuser icon?

Try installing Titanium Backup. That'll tell you real quick if you're rooted. You just need to open it.

Thanks for the quick reply! I wasn't able to even get to the market in the state my phone was, but luckily I was able to start it up in safe mode, try the unroot bat and even though it seemed it didn't work.. the phone is working normally again. Downloaded Titanium Backup now and it is stuck on the screen "Searching for root rights" or something of the sort, meaning it's probably now not rooted. :p

will this work with the OTA 2.2.3 update and a locked bootloader? it says it cant get permission every time, and it tells me hit any key to reboot, and access denied when i do? nothing at all shows up on phone during whole thing or after......... i already installed superuser.apk. should i uninstall and try again?

I don't know what to tell you. I rooted with slapkernel. There's a thread on it.

does it take reflashing of any kind?

EDIT: no clue if it matters, but when i start the phone, only samsung, a swirl ending in samsung, and the word samsung again show up. no "sprint" or "virgin mobile" crap, tho the phones on sprint right now.

No reflashing, no reinstalling, and no lost data. Mine starts up the same as yours. No mention of Sprint.

BTW I'm still running the stock rom, bloatware and all. I guess the phones so craptastic nobody bent over backwards coming up with a rom with guaranteed compatibility.

ok... well, it says its a kernel you have to flash, some kind of .tar file. i downloaded it (to desktop, since i dont know what to do with it. the page just said "flash as usual").... what do i do with it...?

My instructions are, frankly, pretty fantastic. I spent a ridiculous amount of time writing them, so if you can't follow them I can't help.

Edit: No, not the right post. The one stickied in the forum you're in right now.

It's about an inch down from this thread on the root forum page. When I said you didn't have to flash I meant a rom, sorry.
