hello all! I am wanting to upgrade to a smartphone and really like both the Fascinate and the Continuum...Problem is I can't decide...I have read reviews, comparisons, etc but it hasn't seemed to ease the decision. I really like the 4" screen of the fascinate, but I understand from reviews that the GPS has issues, that the volume from the speaker is not quite loud enough, and that pictures from the camera tend to be less than sharp. Looking at it in the store, the display looks very dim even with the brightness all the way up and there is "burn in" from icons on both models displayed (could this be from sitting in the store and being on continuously). The Continuum seems to correct all of these problems as stated in comparison videos on YouTube, but I worry that the smaller screen will not be big enough. Does anyone have any suggestions, recommendations, or knowledge of any of these issues (specifically the screen sizes and if there is a huge difference) and please give some guidance? I am leaning toward the continuum, but am still scared to pull the trigger. Thank you so much in advance!

Well, it all depends on what you want, if you really want the bigger screen, get the fascinate. If you don't mind sacrificing the screen size a bit, then get the continuum. The burn in most likely is from being on ALL the time, because that hasn't happened to mine. You have 2 weeks to return it, so if you really don't like one, you could return it. The ticker is awesome and all, but as of right now, it leaves a bit to be desired. So just think about it, it's all about preferences. (I'm biased, so I tried my best to stay away from recommending either)

both phones are very close to oneanother.....gps is mostly fixed as of late on the fascinate

it comes down to certain things

1. if you want a bigger screen get the fascinate
2. if you want the ticker get the continuum
3. if you plan to root get the fascinate (bigger community, development is much further along)

thats kinda what it comes down to imo :)

I can't argue with that, but we are trying our best with only 2 devs... :D

thanks for the replies guys...I'm still split on the decision though...

I like the nice big screen on the fascinate, but love the size of the continuum in the hand. Is the speaker any louder/better on the continuum over the fascinate? Is the recent update that the fascinate received the reason for the correction of the GPS problems? Also, any new info on the Froyo 2.2 update? I noticed that TMobile received the update over the weekend.

I've had both (gave the Fascinate to my daughter). I liked the big screen on the fascinate and how thin it was... the continuum is more pocketable though, and I do like how it feels in hand.

The biggest thing for me, was the power button. The Fascinate's power button was on the side and it was pretty flush with the rest of the phone's body, it was a real pain and the only way to wake from sleep.

The Continuum has the power button on top, and is nice and raised..also if you wake the ticker the main screen can also be woke up from there. Just my 2 cents..

My wife and daughter have the fascinate. I elected to go with the continuum because I liked the fit in my pocket and the ticker. Plus, it just felt right in my hand.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. Once you have it, it's all that matters.

So pick one and start enjoying the dang thing!

And just a plug for the guys who are working on rooting the Continuum... I really appreciate the work you're doing to make it happen.

good suggestions and thanks for the help...

I think I have decided on the Fascinate! Now here is another question some may be able to help with...

I went to order on the site and noticed I can get a NEW Fascinate for $199 or a CERTIFIED PREOWNED for $40. Which one should I get?? Of course, saving money is always good, but am I setting myself up for trouble with a CPO. Verizon states it will be in LIKE NEW condition and it does come with a one year warranty like all the other phones.

Any more suggestions or opinions???

Thanks again!
