I flashed CM6 and invisiblek #21 then realized I needed gapps. I went into rom manager and tried to get to the point where I could simply flash gapps. Phone went black with two white lines on either side of the screen. I can pull battery and get to hboot but when I try to do recovery i just get the same screen again. wtf did i do? Also I can get it to load but then the screen doesn't work.

I just noticed it says damaged SD card

You need to reflash clockwork. Find a clockwork recovery zip and flash in hboot... I think there is one over at dougpiston.com or adrynalyne.us or can probably find it on cyanogen's site or xda.

Per your edit... You may need to reformat your sd card or get a new one, remember it had to be formatted to fat32.

If your already rooted and just need the recovery image use this http://www.dougpiston.com/files/Recovery/PB31IMG_cwm_mod.zip Download the recovery image and put it on the root of your sdcard (no folders) Rename as PB31IMG.zip and put on the root of your SD card. Flash via HBOOT (Turn phone off, then hold volume down + power). Follow the prompts and it should flash recovery for you.

Sorry to sound stupid, but following your instructions, I get to HBOOT. What prompts should be followed? I get to HBOOT by holding volume down + power. What next? It's the regular hboot screen.

i know this is an old thread and the prollem has prolly been resolved, but i thot id add this in case it pops up for someone else doing searches.

when the PB31IMG file dint work for me,it was because my card was formatted FAT instead of FAT32. another common issue is that if windows adds the .zip automatically and you rename the file "PB31IMG.zip," on the phone it will actualy be called "PB31IMG.zip.zip" and not be found

you should not have to do anything,as long as your card is formatted correctly, and you have placed a file named PB31IMG.zip onto it at the root(top) level. simply boot into hboot, and wait a few seconds for your phone to find the file. when it does,it will ask "do you want to update? vol up-yes vol down-no". hit volume up. you can then hit no to reboot(the update goes real fast) and then select recovery in hboot. you will be taken to clockwork recovery.

hope this may help someone in the future :)
