I've been looking for a reliable app for this and haven't come across one! Also, if you look at the comments in the market of an app like handcent, that is the number one complaint - no password protection!
I need to not have the first few words of a text message appear in the notification bar, even when the lock pattern screen is on! But I'd still like to receive notifications of received text messages and who they're from. And I'd like to password protect all or at least some contacts/messages. I'm amazed that I can't find anything out there yet for this!
The next thing after that that I'd like would be a reliable encryption app for text messages!
If there is already something reliable out there for this, let me know! I've searched the market quite a bit, and while there are some apps out there that claim to do these things, they are outdated and have few if any reviews, and those are mostly really poor.
Someone that can create this app would do EXTREMELY well!
