Root Liquid Gingerbread v1.0 Final Release

After running for a few days, I have got to say that battery life is really bad for me with this ROM. maybe I am spoiled coming from UD 2.5, but I am burning close to 10% an hour underclocked to 250 mHz with the screen locked and nearly 1% a minute under heavy use at 1.2gHz. I also got a few random reboots today while receiving SMS messages. Definitely glad to see gingerbread on our droids and i would love to keep running Liquid, so i am hoping for an update soon.

Agreed battery life on this is way shorter for me than ud 3.0

Just wanted to add that I have not noticed any apps issues, home button issues, 3G, Nav, or anything else that has been reported. I did a full wipe, I should add. But we all know how finicky phones are.

I do agree that the battery life isn't great, but it's not terrible. The downtime is more than serviceable, but once in use, it really starts to drain.

My experience with this ROM so far:

Much more responsive than UD2.5

Rendering/framerate seems lower than UD2.5 and other Froyo ROMS I've tried

Battery life is terrible, phone runs very warm, needs uLV kernels

Accelerometer is buggy, doesn't always work and when it does, it's slow

I consider it to be a very usable ROM, but it has a lot of room for improvement...

So far my impression of this ROM is great! I have to add however, that battery life is not great, and my soft keys do not light up. Things I really like are the toggle widgets in the pull down status bar and the screen off TV animation.

I did have one major question though. Is there not a stock launcher for this ROM? I was unable to uninstall LauncherPro through the Settings-Apps menu, and when I found the permissions in the Settings menu to uninstall it, I couldn't get back to my home screen. When I rebooted, it boot looped and I had to reinstall the ROM.

impression of this ROM after 2 days....awesome.
It is speedy and quick.
The battery life is great, although that may be attributable to adjusting my brightness from automatic to about 25% (i hardly recognize a difference in my display). Yesterday after medium usage I was at 60% at 7pm after taking it off charger at 6:30am. Today I took it off at 6:30 and at 8:30 I am still fully charged.
My 2 cents.

Anyone know if there is a setting to for the screen to rotate quicker? When I flip my phone from vertical to horizontal it takes a couple seconds to rotate. It gets a little annoying when texting.
Besides that, all that is supposed to work is working well. The first time I laoded this rom I ended up getting a bootloop issue after about an hour. I think is was a Launcher issue. I reloaded again today and it seems good to go.

UD says he's working on this. Sometimes my accelerometer doesn't work at all.

How come the Home button does not work in GB?

WFM. Did you wipe coming from a non GB ROM?

Ive ran this rom pretty much all weekend and today, so here is my impressions. The rom seems to run pretty smooth, but i have noticed a few apps that seem to hang up running in this rom. I have noticed a random reboot or two the last few days. The reboots seem to come right when im anwsering an incoming call. Today my bluetooth would just un-connect and would not reconnect without having to do a full reboot. I also had a instance today where i was at 40% battery, had to do a reboot for the bluetooth error, and when the phone booted back up it was down to 20% battery. The bluetooth would not reconnect to my earpiece, and i rebooted again. This time when the phone came back up it was back at 40% again, an bluetooth working like it should. But i exprienced the bluetooth error about 3 times today. Guess i would just go back to my cyanogen7kanged version i was running.

I've had random reboots on every GB ROM I have tried - currently sitting at 6, now, since I flashed this one for a small while. The most stable with 140+ apps installed is no doubt CM7 for me. jeff's is second, with this third and UD 4th (the 5th and sixth were the original releases last month when it was first released - those were alphas, so naturally they rank low).

I have well over 120 MB of free App Space under CM7 - no other ROM can get me there with these same number of apps installed - hell, At one time earlier this month on UD I was down to 120 apps and it still only had 78 MB free - and locking LP into memory killed that quickly.

As fro Battery percentages, stock notifications is 20% for the first 80%, at which point it jumps to every 5%. IOW, 100, 80, 60, 40, 20, 15, 10, 5. So you might have been just above 20 when you rebooted, and the reboot (and subsequent loading of apps) brought it down to the 20 range, when in fact you may have only used 1% doing all that.

OC Droids are gonna suck battery hardcore. I've learned that the hard way.

What other kernels will run on this ROM? Anyone tried? How many of the fixes are incorporated into the included kernel(s)?

I'd like to use an uLV kernel if possible.

Got a better idea - use hte Milestone OC app (in market) and see this thread: [Tut] Milestone OC Application [Tut] - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum

Make your own ULV kernel straight off the stock kernel.

1000 MHz with a vsel set to 66 (the default values for an 800 MHz clock) and no issues whatsoever.

Just wanted to add that I have not noticed any apps issues, home button issues, 3G, Nav, or anything else that has been reported. I did a full wipe, I should add. But we all know how finicky phones are.

It's gonna - default OC, even at 800, uses a higher vsel than the DROID needs to - so it sucks more juice for absolutely nothing.

No - accelerometer only just got working right now, and it works normally in every other app I have tried, only on the home screen is it working slowly.

UD says he's working on this. Sometimes my accelerometer doesn't work at all.

In apps, or just on the home screen?

market wasn't working at first - rewiped everything - now it's workin great .. only question - the contacts list and the dialer - both have a transparent background .. with with letters .. makes it almost invisible .. been looking but - any way to put a black background or something on those? or will the up-coming themes solve that?
