hello people, my question for today is , is this tv worth it? ive seen preview and have play with it at best buy and i fell in love with it. the sony google tv screen look very clear and look perfect to play games on it as well. but i started to read from many website that talk about electronic that the google tv is not worth it. what do you guys( who own the tv) say about it?

i am a man who spend most of my times either playing game or watching tv in the internet.i got not direct tv and i do not use hulu to watch tv show. so what do you guys think? is it worth it?

I think so. I got it for christmas and can't put it down. Also note you can unblock all the networks with the exception of ABC and Hulu. Simply changing the chrome user agent to "Desktop" will unblock most networks. Apparenty ABC and Hulu are somehow recognizing the version of flash, but I imagine even this will be unblocked once the app store opens.

With your PC go to whatever site you're concerned about and if the videos use flash and are in HD then it's not going to be blurry on GTV anymore than it would be on your PC.

Personally, I think GTV is well worth the money. It is basically my PC for the living room. Unlike my XBox, it's quiet, which is important when I'm listening to music. When I watch a movie or show it's usually from Netflix or Amazon VOD. And I use the browser a lot, in fact, I'm using it right now.

So, after reading all of this, the general consensus is that this is a good buy, correct? what would the advantages/disadvantages of buying google TV be? I have not looked into googleTV at all, so I'm a clean slate, can I hear the arguements for or against it? I'd like an unbiased opinion if thats at all possible! thanks a ton guys"!

sam, i bought the sony box google tv. and I love it. Even my wife loves it.

However I think if you are not a gadget person then you can probably live without google tv for the next 6 months or so before you get it (by then all the bugs should be worked out).

Pro: I am typing this on it... I no longer sit in front of the tv with a laptop

Con: No Foward button on the browser. (If there is I cant figure it out), Not able to have apps yet

every penny!!!! i have a ogm_2.1_2010121503ON update on the sony NSZ-GT1 and it works great. picture quality is great and its hooked up to a 60 inch sony led tv connected to the fios receiver. i have to say i have been doing more with the google tv than the actual fios plus hd package i currently have.

The biggest difference is the browser and integration that comes with googletv. I looked at boxee a few times before getting my Revue. Being a Dish Network customer the integration is superb and being able to load up most websites is a great feature. Boxee in my opinion is going to be limited on its application compared to what will be released once the market hits the Google TV devices. Games and all sorts of players and apps will be available hopefully soon. The latest I have heard is March for the market. Also I noticed on the Revue I was able to play XVID and a few other codecs with the native media player and not have to worry about a streaming solution. The pip is a great feature too, plenty of times especially watching sports I use it to check NFL.com or even use the NBA app that is built into the Revue.
