My DX keeps resetting daily...sometimes 3-4 times a day...most of the time when i plug it in, this happens...it also will happen at random points through the day...my friend just got a DX and hers does the same thing...

i'll be on my 3rd replacement when verizon sends me the next phone...but i don't know if this solve the issue...any thoughts?

it was rooted...i used the Z4 1 click root...i unrooted it...it still rebooted...

i did a factory reset and installed all my apps back, it still rebooted...

now, i did a factory reset again and i'm waiting to see if it reboots again...

the main apps i have are:

LauncherPro
Widget Locker
Beautiful Widgets

and from what i'm reading, these all play nice together...

I also have:

FB
twitter
tweetdeck
tapatalk

that i use frequently

and then there are others that don't run unless I open them...

this is really frustrating...my friend's wife's DX is doing the same thing mine is...i helped her put widget locker / beautiful widgets / launcher pro on her phone...

do you think it's the apps?

But are the apks still missing? I only ask because I had boot loops that were caused if I renamed a number of APKs, including:

BlurHome (some widgets rely on it)
BlurUpdater (checks for Motorola updates and Verizon PRL updates)
BuaContactAdapter (appears to cause fast boot loops when removed)
Music (not suggested because of soft reboot issue with integrated lockscreen)
VpnServices

i did not remove these...only the bloatware apps

Why don't you try SBFing it to a totally blank state, leave it unrooted and see if you have any problems using it? I know this sounds like a pain, but it might let you know if it is an inherent hardware issue or some app that you have installed. Besides, if you're waiting for a new device, it's something to do to pass the time.

good idea for tonight...i have nothing better to do with it...

so, i added apps one by one...seems like launcher pro was causing issues...mind you, it's only been 12 hrs so i don't know if its only that app...it did crash immediately after another factory reset with LP, but i've been running the standard Moto UI with no issues...and i hate the MOTO UI

anyone else have that problem?

I use LPP and haven't had that issue. So very odd. Did you try changing the memory config with LPP? Mind you, I saw that you tried Go and have had success. Glad that you were at least able to isolate it to something. Maybe it was a widget conflict with LPP?

dunno...i am running Go Launcher now with no issues..it's very similar to LP, and i'm ok with it...if it runs fine and i don't have any crashes, i may not take the "like new" phone that was sent to me...i'm going to run GL for a while and see if it crashes again...and i'm running the widgets (beautiful and widget locker) and not having issues

i'll try the mem config if i get a crash with GL...if not, i'll stick it out with GL...thanks

My X has suddenly started the random rebooting problem. It rebooted several times in a row yesterday and then again today. I notice that the screen sort of freezes up and won't rotate or let me go from screen to screen, and then next thing I know, I get the black screen>Droid> red eye etc. Hate to think it could be LPP. Maybe my phone is jealous of the EVO I've been testing out - so far no troubles with that phone. My X is making it easier and easier to think about making the switch to Sprint.

My X is not rooted, by the way.
