Accessories Trident Kraken

as an admitted case-aholic i was wanting to know the general feedback on the trident kraken case. im currently using an otterbox commuter series case which i love except for the fact that the mini usb and hdmi rubber plug keeps coming un plugged and dirt gets trapped under the case and i have to take it off and clean the dang thing. this is my third case going from a verizon silicone to a cheap snap on to an otter box. my question is, is the trident case too bulky and is it really worth the money? those questions and just general feedback are welcome

Quite a bit actually. But its a heavy duty rugged case. Thin isn't what they are going for. The kraken is thinner than the otterbox defender series though.

Quite a bit. Its only slightly smaller than th defender.

I would think no. Even though the X's Xbattery isn't that thick, the two piece snap on case fits pretty snug on the phone so even the slightest increase in thickness would prevent it from fitting properly

i think i found a video on the internet that shows an extended battery fitting into the case. i really wish they made a cyclops case for the DX that would be the perfect solution for me

i love the trident Kraken case for the X. The only issue I have is hitting some of the keyboard buttons and trying to get the notification bar down. Also the plastic protector piece for the camera makes the camera quite unusable(unless I put in on wrong) It does add some bulk to the phone but I'm quite happy knowing that my X is very well protected. I bet this bad boy could stop a bullet!

I figured out how to mostly avoid the notification bar problem (as in, not being able to catch it): roll the side of your finger from the top of the screen down, don't flick your fingertip down quickly. It gives it time to realize what you're trying to do and lets you catch the bar. At least, that works for me.

I really wanted to buy the Kraken for my Droid X as I dropped the insurance on it (given my last dime to Asurion) and felt I needed a good case to cover my investment. The Trident web site is sold out on the holster for the Kraken. A holster is pretty important for me so I ended up buying an Otterbox Defender. When the holsters become available for the Kraken again, I might buy one.

I got my kracken this weekend. It's bulky, no doubt. But I work in construction and alot around the house. So, it's great and seems to take the abuse. It doesn't fit my holster and is at times too big for my pocket. The construction and quality are better than expected for the price. So I'm kinda in limbo on wether I really really like it or not.
