My Replacement Evo is a Refurb....

Welcome to my hell. 3 phones in (2 refurbs) that still have minor issues and all Sprint Customer service has told me is take it back to a service center and they will either fix it or order you another refurb. What a PITA. I demanded a new phone and even went up the food chain but no luck. Back to the service center one more time.....

I spoke to customer service. I actually talked to an agent, then a supervisor, then the supervisor escalated me up to a higher agent. They all told me the same thing - replacements are done through the store. The last lady I spoke to gave the store a call and that's when the store technician told me that he'd replace the screen in hopes of resolving the light leakage. I just don't think that the new screen would do it and like he said, most refurbs come with that issue these days.

I just don't want to have to keep going back for new refurbs every other day in hopes of getting one that doesn't have any light leakage AND works fine.

Let me tell you 1st hand, Changing the Screen WON'T help. I had a corp. store tech change the screen and when I went to pick it up, it still had screen separation AND light leakage. I even showed them and they had the nerve to say I was picky. After that I went home and filed a complaint with the BBB, 2 days later I was contacted by Sprint and they ordered me a new EVO and they paid the $100 deductible. There is no way in hell I am paying for a known hardware defect. File a complaint with the BBB to get the results you want and deserve. I paid for a NEW phone and I want a NEW phone in return.

Yup burns me every time when someone tells me I'm being picky. Easy to say when its not your hard earned money being spent on something from the 18 year kid behind the counter. I bought a new phone, I want a new phone in return damn it. (Rant button off now)

hm... i got a replacement EVO 3 days ago (i had to wait 3 days to get it shipped, they wouldn't give me any of the new EVOs and had no refurbs in the store). After I brought it home and started using it i noticed a bunch of issues with it. Very weak vibration, lower left 1mm glass separation, lower left light leaking into the display, and missing water detection sticker inside the phone.

I'm VERY disappointed in Sprint's refurb process. It's like they didn't even fix the phone when they reconditioned it. My first refurb experience was bad as well when I got a refurbed Hero with a crack inside the display... I could not believe they felt that was ok to send out...
