Battery life on the G2

I think the battery is pretty good as well, but I'm coming from an Incredible that I usually had to charge again by 2pm. There are extended batteries on Amazon that are a really good deal, but you have to remove the outer sticker to get them to work with the G2 and put tape over the SD card so that it doesn't short out. 2-1800 mAh batteries and a charger for I think less than $40, and I easily get a day's worth of normal use without charging again until I go to bed.

Battery is soo much better than my EVO (Sprint). That thing seriously dies by the end of the day with literally NO use (and all the extras turned off). I just try to plug it in if possible at some point during the day if I know I'll be out the night, etc.

As far as group texts... not 100% on that, but I think I've seen the answer on here somewhere... I just don't remember where. The most I've sent is like six people at this point, and I just type them all in, type my message, then send.

Hmm... I have a live wallpaper, I leave GPS, Bluetooth on. I play games, and browse the web, no-heavy-texting-yet-I-still-need-an-unlimited-plan, but I don't talk all that much. When I get off this family plan, I'd actually benefit from the 450 Minute plan. So that's why my battery last about a day. 12-16 hours. If you added talking which kills phones, then yea, you'd probably have a shorter battery lilfe.

Lmao i don't have an issue with the screen. I've since accepted that if i want a bright screen i'll likely have to get a samsung device

The hinge doesn't bother me....I actually play with it alot when i am bored. sliding it open and close. It's different
Although the pinching did piss me off when i first got it, now i am a pro at closing it without getting pinched

Hate is a strong word. From all the Keyboard phones i've owned Moto Droid, Palm Pre plus, Kin two and Moto Backflip, this is definitely the best

I guess in all honesty. I don't hate the G2. it's Stock Android I hate.
With every UI, they offer something you don't find in the stock UI.
All stock UI guarantees is quicker updates and less bloatware. Nothing special
about the UI.

yeah but im sure most people would prefer faster updates and less bloatware over a UI that can delay or potentially block any updates? Behold 2 anyone? And look at the galaxy devices, finally getting 2.2. But i can agree alot of people like certain UI's. i like sense, its such a great looking UI. However its just as easy to have stock android and get what the other UI's offer off of the market via widgets and whatnot.

me, personally, i LOVE stock 2.2 the only thing i miss out of any one's UI would be the droid 2/droidx motorola facebook widget/app and HTC sense live background.

But in all honesty, i believe it's the minority who care about updates aka people who are on sites like these.

my mother recently got an android phone and she thought something was wrong when she got update.

Average consumers honestly have no idea about the updates therefore it doesn't bother them if they dont get the update till six months later

but do they want the bloatware?? probably not.

the only issue i have with my G2 is about once every 3 or so days i get a random reboot to the HTC screen. and i AM updated. today it did it twice and thats the first time its ever done that. HOWEVER every time its rebooted on me like that its because im at my home out in the boonies.. i get only 3 bars max of edge signal and sometimes it wont get signal. so i use wifi. from what i read, many people think its something to do with wifi standby. and i tend to agree. every time its rebooted on me it was on my desk just standing by. however its only rebooted in my hands ONCE. and thats during a game i was playing after i turned wifi off (while it was probably searching for a signal.)

Ok, where are all these people getting these all-day batteries from? I've had my phone for about 3 months now, and I've never gotten more than 5 continuous hours out of my battery without having to recharge unless I do absolutely NOTHING with it all day (which I simply cannot do). That's why I can't leave the house without my portable battery charger, just in case.

And no, I don't use bluetooth or gps or leave wifi on.
