Great review and iphone comparison by John Lamb

I've been using annual upgrade for a couple years now. If your voice plan (just voice plan, not including data/additional line charges) is over a certain amount (I want to say $50/month, but not sure), you have the option to upgrade annually at the discounted "2-year contract price". So you don't get the "new every new" $50 or $100 towards the phone, but you don't have to pay full retail. As fast as phones are coming out now-a-days, I think it's totally worth it.
