Help No data/wifi Signal with some apps Open - On X10 Eminence

So I was sending a text or two, then tried an MMS (500k). The minute I click send, the signal drops off to zero. I "exit" out of handcent and the 3G/H comes back up. I re-open Handcent and it drops off again. This happened about 5 times now.

Search yields nothing, just wondering if anyone has input?

In Handcent settings, send message settings and then Maximum MMS size... does changing this help at all. Mine is defaulted to 300k but you can go much higher.

I had it set to auto resize and 1MB. I then shrunk it to 500k and tried resending, no luck. The signal goes to zero when the program is on the screen. I get to the home screen while the message is still being tried, then the 3G/H pops back up (never does get sent though).

How very odd. Does your carrier possibly have a limit that prevents it sending. Hope you find the answer!

Yeah, it's very odd. I was using Handcent for months without issue. I just went to Eminence ROM and it's been great. I tried GoSMS and wasn't impressed, so I downloaded Handcent again and it just doesn't connect when it's on the screen.

I checked my data for this month, it was reset on the 24th and I've only used 5mb since.

Now that I am home, it's also cutting off in Wifi mode. Drops wifi completely.

No issues in stock app, but it's instant in handcent. I'm deleting it.

Have you tried with Chomp SMS, pretty similar to Handcent visually if I remember right. At least you can do it with the stock app. Still might weird!

I went to GoSMS, but I still prefer Handcent because they have the contact picture by each bubble.

FWIW, I re-installed Handcent and it still cut the signal. Very odd.

Have you emailed the devs, generally they like to hear of any problems with their products and without us throwing it back to them, they won't know a problem exists.

I don't think it's just a Handcent issue anymore, I just discovered Weathereye (Weather channel app) does it too. Not sure how many other apps, but I'm sure I'll discover more with time.

Flixster is another one I just discovered...

Yikes. I'm going to ask on XDA.

So no one knew everywhere I checked.

So I gave up and backed everything up, re-installed the Eminence Rom and starting reloading/configuring my stuff. Everything worked fine. I then restored some of the apps I had backed up, including data. I was in Weathereye - data working fine and saw an ad, so I went to ad blocker (first time opening it since the restore) and noticed it was already blocked. Went back into weathereye and sure enough signal dropped.

Adblocker is the culprit. I removed it and all issues are gone. I then stopped rconfiguring and just restored to yesterday's backup and deleted Adblocker. Problem solved.
