I am helping my sister pick an android phone from T-Mobile. Assuming she does not want t wait for the Pyramid. Currently, I don't want to indicate my preference
But of he three phones which do you recommend

1. Vibrant
2. MyTouch 4g
3. Vibrant 4g

Thanks For your help
Eric

we dont know your sister...so not sure which will make her happy.

but by my standards: dont buy samsung and you will be ahead of the game!

ps... did you know.. this weekend Tmobile has a sale.. all phone are free with 2yr!

If you are going to say don't buy Samsung, you might also want to add don't buy Sony Ericsson and Motorola.

Sony Ericsson - by being so bad at delivering updates that they weren't even included on update speed comparison charts.

Motorola - by encrypting their android phones with 128 bit encryption that is still impossible to crack. The Milestone has yet to be rooted, and the same will probably happen with the Atrix and the Xoom.

Samsung - for having update fights with US carriers (the rest of the world has moved onto 2.2.1 already) and using their own custom boot kernel (thus messing up cyanogen mods and miui roms)

Get MT4G and I am not saying because I have it as I am saying because its the best choice. oldVibrant and newVibrant is same Vibrant lol Samsung just failed in first attempt so they try to confuse the user indirectly with Vibrant 4G as 21mbps is theriotical HSPA+ Rv1 speed where MT4G is capped at 14.4mbps but the actual speed is 3-7mbps even for Vibrant which is equal to MT4G speed. MT4G is superior phone in terms of hardware but yes I must give credit where its due as SAMOLED is better screen and SGX540 is slightly better than AMD Z460 but due to superior hardware the 2GS SoC and 768mb ddr you will outdue the Vibrant. Always trust me I am XDA-Guy :p

Yeah the myTouch 4G is LOADED. 768MB of RAM, newer Qualcomm 1GHz chip (which based on Smartbench, is the best single core in terms of actual productivity, the Hummingbird chip found in the Samsungs are the best in terms of gaming).

The only Samsung worth considering (and one she should seriously consider adding to her list) IMO is the Nexus S because it has Android 2.3 and will be the first to get any updates/bugfixes.
