All HTC Inspire 4G Previews/Reviews in here!

Unrelated, but somewhat related, Atrix 4G looks like its HSUPA has been gimped as well. Yes its before the so called HSPA+ hard launch, but like Blanco, we will see next month. :p

Edit: On topic, probably to the disdain of Andrea, lol, Pocketnow's Review (4.5/5): http://pocketnow.com/android/htc-inspire-4g-review

That review was actually much more accurate and in depth than before also I like how they are willing to give the benefit of the doubt to att. In conclusion a phone like the inspire receiving 4.5 out of.5 from a source such as pocketnow is a very good sign indeed :)

Something I found interesting was down in the comments, that I havent heard a single reviewer state yet:

Random Internet Conspiracy Theorist
why do you keep insisting hspa+ is not active yet? (just like those other fools). could it be htc inspire hspa+ is defective? ok, backhaul is not implemented yet? there is still no reason why a regular hspa (3g) phones having better (higher) speedtest than a supposed hspa+(4g) phone!

He must have some serious hate for.either At&t or HTC. I mean the only other thing I could think of is extreme fanboyism of some other company / phone

Judging by some of the terms he's using, I'm pretty sure I've seen him on YouTube as well. This guy gets around. Typical jackass screaming from virtual rooftops without fear of repercussion. Such is modern life, now.

Anyone with half a brain and who knows ANYTHING can tell he is full of it and in a week or two will look like a TOTAL MORON. (not that he doesnt already).

Is he the same guy posting here just under a different name?

The fact that he was banned from xda says it all.

They are sharp over there, and can easily spot serious phone users from the idiots.

Banned from xda = measured/weighed and found wanting.

LINK TO FULL REVIEW:
HTC Inspire 4G (AT&T) Review - A Review of the HTC Inspire 4G (AT&T)

COMMENTS ON BATTERY LIFE FROM THE REVIEW:
Sadly, the Inspire 4G packs a relatively low-capacity 1230 mAh battery, compared to 1500 mAh for the Evo 4G. So we weren't surprised when this smart phone lasted only 4 hours and 48 minutes in our battery test. (This test involves surfing the web over 3G/4G with the screen on 40-percent brightness.) So even if you assume the true runtime is 5:06, that's 22 minutes shorter than the Android category average, and well behind other 4.3-inch phones such as the Evo 4G (5:48) and Motorola Droid X (7:42).

5 hours of continuous web surfing?

I can kill my iphone doing that in 3 hours flat...and its a 3gs......

Sounds like a good battery to me (in the inspire)

HSUPA nets speeds far beyond 250Kbps. Real world, I see 1Mbps uploads consistently on AT&Ts network and my hacked Captivate.

HSUPA is up to 5.76mbps max, I see 1.2-1.4 on average, peak was 2.7. All the talk about HSPA+ not active is BS, if backhaul is added and download speeds are increased to 4g, it won't change the upload since hsupa is still disabled.

I don't understand how Andrea and the others dont understand this. If 4G is turned on, and you go to an area that doesn't have it and fall back onto 3G, then you are gonna see the speeds we keep seeing in reviews. It doesn't matter what the backhaul is, it matters what the phone is capable of. So far is seems that the inspire isn't capable of fast uploads. That may change, but it might not.

And unless you are uploading youtubes...no one really cars about upload speeds...

AT ALL....

And i can do the uploading when im home via wi-fi if i have some HUGE file that needs to go that would tie up my phone for a long time (which is pretty much NEVER going to happen).

My car doesnt have ejection seats either...i am ok with that knowing i would probably never use them.

My cat actually cant do a cat scan...but thats ok to...i can get one done at the hospital..

Are you getting this??? Hello? Anyone there???

I am actually not a highlander either...but im cool with it. Immortality is over rated.

Anything else we need to complain about that we don't have but also don't need?

its kind of a scary thought, but as soon as they come through my store im speed testing them

No I understand it.completely but until all the evidence is there I will reserve judgement. That's what you don't understand

Holy crap, that's your argument? Cause you don't need it, no one else does? And the rest of your argument sounds like the ramblings of a 14 year old. Get off mommy's computer, pay for your phone out of your allowance piggy bank, and then cry to daddy when your allotment of minutes has been used up. Maybe you can mow the lawn and they'll give you some more.

Have you ever heard the argument "he knows enough to be dangerous"

That is what this is.

Upload speeds of 256kbs are more than enough for web surfing/sending pics etc all day long.

The reason you experience lag on most phones is not due to the upload speeds, its network traffic, phone utilization, phone power, signal strenght, etc etc. (with relation to uploading a picture or something)..

Unless you are uploading a file that is 10mb or larger (up into the Gigs) these up load speeds WILL NEVER effect the end users experience.

If you knew anything about data stream or computing technology you would know this (but obviously you do not).

As i said..for long youtubes..yes it would be useful.

Give me one other instance of uploading a file that size that would need to be done that quickly by the average user (greater than 10mb) on a routine basis...with a phone

It only seemed like the ranting of a 14 year old because you read a review and saw two numbers and used the "this one is not as big as the other" method of analysis. Without any true perspective on data utilization, file size, or what people use their phones for. Ergo..its not JUST me..its 98% of users out there.

What is the file size of an 8mp camera at full resolution. How long would it take to upload that at 1mbs??

Give up?? Gone? Ran away?

Answer....it would take around 4.2 seconds.

At 256k How long would it take? Well 4x as long....16.8 seconds roughly.

But there arent many places you even need to send a 4.2mb sized picture file....does facebook even let you post pictures of that size??? And if you DID have a need...and were stuck at 256k..well then, it will take you about 17 seconds....

We are going to be looking at much higher upload speeds than 256k before much time passes...

(8 megapixel camera (3264 x 2448)
File size: 4.2MB)
I guess you just got "smacked down" by a 14 year old.

I'm guessin an 8mp picture is around 2-2.5 megs, at 256kbps, that would take 78 seconds. At 1200kbps it's 16 seconds. Now upload a days worth of photos to Facebook and see what speeds you prefer.

Btw, my home dsl has a 400k upload, and when I upload things from my phone I turn wifi off cause it sucks.
