Am I the oldest person in here with a HTC Desire?

I'm 50 years old

Well, you're not! I am a bit older and 63. I live in the Netherlands. I am interested in all kind of new technical developments and gadgets. One of my hobbies is working with and building computers. Now I have bought a HTC Desire Brown. It will arrive at the end of the week, I hope :D
A lot of new this to discover!

56 here.

I find it amazing that folks look at me stupid when I tell them I build and fix computer systems. They seem to think it's only young folks who can do that. Seems to me we live in a society where ageism is rife lol.

A bit like when I tell them I worked on the Internet (ok - Arpanet) in 1985 and it was not new then! Most kids think the Internet is around 5 years old.

I am 50

I'm 68. On another cycling forum someone aged 53 has just got a Doro. I asked him if he intends to use the walk in bath discount voucher that came with it.

I also asked him where you load the coal in it?

So many people of my age think old, act old, and seem to give up, they are an embarrassment. I am fascinated by the technology of Smartphones and Tablets. I think it is the biggest advance since the advent of graphical UI's. The tight code of these new operating systems is amazing and will surely lead to an ongoing revolution.

I do cycle touring, sometimes in B&B's, sometimes in hostels, and sometimes with a tent. My HTC serves as a Phone, Text, Email, GPS sat nav, Camera, Web Browser, Kindle, Newspapers, BBC News, calendar, weather, TV, iPlayer, radio, MP3player, camcorder, emergency flashlight . Its a great weight saver, and when you leave your tent you can just slip it in a pocket confident that you aren't leaving anything of value there, so its great for security and portability.

I am looking forward to getting a WiFi tablet for sofa surfing. The Desire is great and highly portable but realistically I could do with a bigger device thats easier to read.
