The way I see it, it will take a year of two for people to migrate over to Verizon just because of contracts with that "other" carrier. Once that is done then the real comparisons can start. Not to mention those who are smart enough not to do it until 4G comes out and not buy one just because it is the iCrap 4... I am sure more than a few will get it thinking it is already 4G.

Thankfully with the adoption of LTE worldwide (at least from what I read) over the next few years people will no longer be locked into a carrier for a specific phone. Although something tells me they will still try and lock you down somehow!..

This is about what I was expecting. I think hte cast majority of people gerabbing the iPhone right now are those switching from ATT. At the end of the day, this is still good news for Verizon because it is fresh new contracts, not just handset sales. The real numbers that matter (in my eyes anyway), will be that of when the iPhone 5 launches.

The bigger picture is they will likely sell a million plus in a week of a phone that came out almost a year ago. I'd say thats pretty damn good.

One can view it that way, or one can say people are after it for the OS. I would wager most people are after it for the OS. Had they offered a 3GS for Verizon as well, the numbers would be different still, I suspect.
