It's ridiculously fast, stock kernel. I've never been this blown away by a rom within the first 2 minutes.

This. It's been worth the wait. Everything works except DSP manager, which I have never ever needed to use. Camera and camcorder just tested, LEDs, apps all restored, animations, ultimate settings, all of it. Blazingly fast, just like you would expect. I like the changes to the stock launcher, but still went with LP.

Bottom line: this is the GB rom we've all been waiting for.

Installed last night and everything is running perfectly and super fast! I'm extremely impressed with BD's and his collaborators' work!. The only huge issue I had was in the beginning. It appeared that the auto brightness was broken or glitchy and I couldn't see anything on the screen unless I held down the power key to get to the boot menu. So I had to fumble around for about 20 minutes to get past the initial setup and into the settings to uncheck the auto-brightness option and insto-presto everything is all and good! I haven't heard of anyone else having this issue so far.. I wiped data and cache and installed twice and the issue persisted. I may try re-downloading and reapplying to see if that will alleviate the problem later on today. Other than that I'm in love with this rom!

The ROM is near flawless, for me. It's plenty fast and smoother than the previous RC2 release, and compares nicely to the latest CM nightly I was running (with the bonus of the UD extras).

The only issue I've found, so far, was the overlapping of text, with regard to the "charge" indicator and my alarm clock text, on the rotary lockscreen. Past this, I'm glad to say I haven't noticed anything else that upsets my usual use.

Been a big fan of UD for quite some time and was excited to hear the final was out this morning. Loaded it up first thing this morning and wow am I impressed. Best GB ROM out there for sure! Been unplugged ~5hrs now and still at 90%, and that includes all the time spent in recovery doing nandroid backup, and loading the ROM. Also includes restoring and setting up all of my apps again. Everything from the market restored with no trouble at all btw.

KB lights work, camera and camcorder work, haven't found any issues yet at all.

Definitely loving this ROM!!! Kudos to the whole UD team for all their work.

In other words, it's a customized version of CM7?

Yeah I noticed that too. Not terribly bothersome, just a little weird.

Under the hood, I imagine so. On the surface, it's like all of the other UD ROMs I've tried, which I know many credit more to the CM team than UD. It looks good and runs as well as I had hoped.

edit: I've also noticed that the LEDs actually work perfectly. With CM7 and even a switch back to UD2.5 for a little bit as comparison, I would get a text and the LED would come on and not blink, but just stay steadily green. Not a huge annoyance, but it bugged me a little bit, and also didn't go away after re-installing, wiping, anything. But now they work, as does everything else, so I'm happy as a clam.

Nope, not CM-based. But thanks for beating a dead horse.

I don't think that there's anything wrong with it per se, but the last several UD ROMs have been modified versions of CM. Considering that all the things that are now working in this version of UD have been working in CM7 nightlies for the last week or so, I don't think it's too much of a stretch to make an educated guess where the new UD fixes came from. I'm not trying to bash UD or "beat a dead horse", just making an observation.

I've always liked UD but since new CM7 nightlies arrive daily and can be flashed over previous versions without wiping, I'll stick with CM7 so I can stay more up to date.

EDIT: Some very brief Googling (under a minute) revealed that most of the people credited with GB bug fixes on the UD site for this ROM (UD 3) are CyanogenMod developers. Nobody's feathers are being ruffled as credit is being given where credit is due, in this case to CM.

For those running it, how is your battery life? OR if you have switched from other GB roms how does it compare?

I usually dont get good battery life with UD roms but I am hoping GB changes that!

Been happy with CROM beta 2 for a while now. I'll give this one a shot. Glad UD is still giving the OG some love; looks like he's branching out on how many other devices their supporting.

Let me know what you think, I have been quite happy with CROM Beta 2 as well.

Yep the edit is all anyone really needs to know about this matter now :) All the CM team wanted was credit where it was due and BD seems to be giving that now. The rift has passed and from what I hear this is a pretty good ROM, I'm sticking with CM7 but I no longer bash on UD the way I used to... :p

Ever notice that whenever any new ROM comes out someone always says it is "blazing fast" and has the best battery life ever :)

THIS! That seems to be a running theme with ROMs. It's actually not only predictable at this point, but quite humorous. :D

Just my opinion, but I've been running nothing but GB ROMs since they've hit this forum and my battery life has suffered with EVERY one. I can't seem to find the right kernel to help either. The biggest problem though, is now I'm addicted to Gingerbread ... so I can't go back.

Agreed on both counts. Best battery experience on a GB rom so far may have been CROM beta 2 or Pete's stock GB rom (but neither have even a few bells & whistles I want, i.e. the notification bar widget).

So far battery seems about average w/UD 3. Gonna TRY to hold off flashing another one until I give it a full 24 hours breaking in...try! :)
