Root [ROM] ApeX V1.4.1 for Droid X & Droid 2 - Refinement and Ease of Use (2/22/2011)

I don't know if this has been answered, I read the thread and did not see an answer. I have the super awesome boot animation but no sound. I flashed over 1.3.1 with no wipe. How do I get the THX sound?

Also, is there a way to get the circle battery icon back that was in 1.3.1, I really liked it.

Fab, Thanks for an awesome ROM, I have been tempted to try others but have stayed with APEX, Beers on me soon

I deleted that icon and am using the messaging app shortcut and it works great.

I don't know if anyone has experienced this, but I just connected my phone to my PC and the phone semi-rebooted; I got the apex boot animation, and all I could do was get the pop up to reboot or power off the phone. Anyone have this happen to them?

Just hooked mine up a couple different times and never had an issue bro... Hope you can figure out what it is...

I think this is something baked in to .340, lots of people including myself have had this problem even when bone stock.

This is the first time I've ever experienced it, and I connect my phone to my PC quite often.

I do as well and i just did it 3 or 4 times to see if I could replicate what you are getting and can't come up with it....

Im not sure what causes this, but I get this issue even with Stock 2.2.1,, also with another ROMs (don't remember which ones exactly but I think it was TranQ and rubiX Blur) I get a soft Reboot when plugging the phone via USB to my computer

Do you happen to have a sdcard notification that is stored on the sdcard itself?

I think the cause is that the phone tries to play the tone, but it's on the sdcard, which is being mounted in usb storage, and the deadly cycle causes the reboot.

Try using a built in notification, or turning off sd card notifications altogether.

p.s. i also went into phone files and deleted the Liberty file just in case it was something in that file thats making the sound stop? just a heads up.

Do you remember where those liberty files are located? I want to do the same since I'm coming from Liberty 1.5.

Should just be in a folder called liberty on.your sd card

When you Wipe batt stats, is there supposed to be a status or progress statment (like, "batt stats wiped", etc.)?

I know the bootup sound question has been answered but I upgraded from 1.3.1 with no format and I don't have boot up sound, nor do i have custom notification or custom ringtones. I was looking forward to them..

what can i do to get them working? I dont see any new ones in the sounds list.

Short version:

Loaded 1.4 over 1.4rc2 which was over 1.3.1 which was over 1.2.

Gmail no longer sync'd.

Delete data in settings>applications. No good.

So, what finally worked is going into ClockworkMod Recovery, doing a data wipe Factory reset, then installing 1.4 afresh.

It worked fine.

Moral to the story: You gotta start afresh sometimes. It's kinda like taking out the garbage, y'know?
