Welcome. I think you'll really love the dx.

My previous phone was an LG Chocolate from '07. Don't have anything bad to say about it....

I would venture to guess this was most peoples point of view before coming to the DX. I know I was very happy with my Curve until I upgraded to the DX. So happy, that I had no plans on leaving Blackberry at all. It's just that, once I made the switch and got used to all the possibilites with Android, I could never go back to the Curve... or Blackberry for that matter.

I know there are several ex-Eris users running around here. I'm sure when they got their Eris, and probably pretty much up until they got their DX, they loved their Eris. It was more than likely a big step up from whatever they had previouis, so they probably wouldn't have noticed many drawbacks to... until they got DX with all that storage.

One day I know I'll have a device that will make me look back with a giggle at my DX. Until them, I'm having a great time on it.

or a droid incredible.. wait, what? (I'll shut up, now) :p

I have a Droid Incredible as well as a Droid X, and I honestly can't make up my mind which one I like better. My Dinc has an AMOLED screen, and I have the screen brightness *cranked*, all the way up, because I love how it looks. It also has a Seidio 3500 extended battery which goes two or more days between charges. L-O-V-E the phone!

The Droid X is big, powerful and FAST. The 4.3 screen is the ONLY way to go. I love the Liberty 1.5 rom and the way it makes the phone look and act. For me it's a case of "two great phones, but I can only effectively use one at a time". Decisions, decisions...;)
