I was thinking about getting an incredible

I have a Droid1 and it seems limited and lagging. So I was thinking about getting the Incredible and this way I can root my droid. I want to try a HTC phone and figure this would be a good one to try. So when my contract runs out next year I will have a better understanding of which phone I will go with the dual core. I have owned nothing but Motos so I want to try something different.

I think you will like it. My sister has a Droid1 and I've just recently set it up for her. She's not rooting so I did the best I could with what she has. I must say after playing on it and configuring it for an hour or so, the Inc is in another league as for UI and speed/smoothness. Even my Eris was smoother than the Droid1 with blur. The moto phones sure are built solidly though and the notification light on it rocks! (the inc's notification light is weak).

Enjoy your new Inc!

I've had the Incredible since November and I love it. However, I wouldn't get one right now. There are so many phones coming out really soon. The Inc has been out since last April, so it's starting to age. I primarily want a front facing camera and 4G. I'm not a big gamer, but those two features alone make it worth my while to get one of the newer phones.

Plus, Verizon is being stricter about early upgrades, so you'll be stuck with this phone for a while. If you really want an Inc, you might consider buying a used one from Craigslist or something. This way, you still have your precious upgrade which you can use later on in the year if something else catches your eye. The Inc goes for around $200. I'm sure more will be for sale when current Inc users upgrade to the Thunderbolt or Bionic.

The Inc is a great phone. I have had it since June. With the way phones progressive I no longer find it relevant to waste the money on insurance or "extended warranty" coverage as I only now sign one year contracts. With that said, i am coming up on my March 30th Upgrade date and see no reason to upgrade my phone with anything that is currently on the market. Everybody is getting excited about the two new htc phones coming. But in reality the forward progress these phones are now making is so slow. They are either intentionally leaving out features so you never feel like you have the "perfect" phone or the are completely ignorant to what features people want on their phones. Either way I am slightly ranting. But the Inc is on par with all phones coming in the next couple months and if I was anyone I would be waiting for two key features 2.3 min, and battery life.

So back to subject all phones compared on verizon network right now. Yes, the DInc comparably the best phone to buy, but only for the short term. If you can buy it straight up from someone used and do not upgrade your contract until a really good phone comes, and even then only buy a 1 year contract, because in six months you will have wish you just waited another 6 months...

guess I will keep an eye on the classified's. Thanks for all the help you guys (also gals if applicable) you all was really helpful.

I'm sure a bunch of Incredibles will start popping up on Craigslist soon. A little advice when buying from CL...I think it would be a good idea to meet with the seller at a Verizon store just so they can check the ESN number right away. Don't want to get stuck with a stolen phone or whatever.
