Root Where'd "Connect to PC" go

Settings > Connect to PC > check ask me

that's what's weird. The "Connect to PC" choice is not listed in settings.
The only options are:

  • Wireless Network
  • Call Settings
  • CyanogenMod Settings
  • ADW Launcher
  • Sound
  • Display
  • Location & Security
  • Applications
  • Privacy
  • Storage
  • Language / Keyboard
  • Voice Input
  • Accessibility
  • Dock
  • Date & Time
  • About phone

that is missing the only thing in the notification window is enable usb debugging. the other option is gone.
(UPDATE) just flashed invisiblek/slayer .37 kernel and it is back again. i guess the fact i was using invisiblek #28 kernel ( not truely for gingerbread)was the problem the only downfall is the smarta$$ governer won't go below 245 i liked to set the other kernel at 128 i saw tremendous battery life at that setting.

when ever you turn it on, pull down your notification bar and click the charge only option, a screen will come up and you hit "turn USB on" this is a rough description from memory but it should be something like that.

If others are wondering the screen-flow seems to be:
- Pull down notification bar
- Options include
* USB Debugging Enabled (Select for options)
* USB connected (Select bring up option to "Turn on USB Stoage"

Choosing "Turn On" displays message

"If you turn on USB Storage some applications will stop and be unavailable until you turn off USB storage (OK/Cancel)

Of course you have no way of knowing if you care about which apps will stop but hey, it's a hobby, not a phone.

Thanks.

The original question stated that with CM7 the option to "Turn on USB Stoage" is missing. I'm seeing the same problem.

The screen flow maplewood describes is present in stock and other custom ROMs but it seems to be missing from CM7.

Is there a resolution or work-around?

I see the same behaviour.

Yes, as kidhudi said, the "multi mount sd-card" app allows you to mount the sd card. As a bonus it lets you mount it from the phone and PC simultaneously. There are lite and paid versions in the market, either will do the trick.

Thank you. I'll use that.

FYI. The Amazon AppStore has the Dual Mount SD Widget which looks like it will work too. I didn't like the "multi mount sd-card" developer's attack on people running Ad Block. Ad Block serves a legit purpose. I would have paid for his version, but his policy made me pay for Dual Mount SD widget instead.

You're welcome. Actually I installed CM7 RC3 last night and the "USB connected" prompt has now come back. :)

Personally I'll still use multi mount sd-card as I prefer not dismounting from the phone (and I've paid for it now!). You make a valid point regarding Ad Block but as the lite version worked well for me I just went ahead and bought the full version straight away (it's cheap enough). Amazon Appstore is only available in the USA, so I can't easily get hold of the Dual Mount SD Widget anyway.
