or accounts click on your account /menu /sync gmail

Holy crap the boot ani sound scared me! I forgot how loud the sound is during boot.

Haha, it seems like it's love/hate with the boot animation sound.

It is easily disabled in the toolbox though.

Goodies->Toggle Boot Animation->Disable THX sound.

haha yeah I knew it was easily disabled just surprised me when I booted into ApeX after the initial install.

Hi guys, sorry if this is a total newb question, but i've got a little symbol in my notification bar that looks like a "refresh" symbol (two circular arrows) that seems to be static. It looks very similar to the data sync icon, but it never goes away. I tried turning some stuff off and on to determine what the icon is, but haven't had any luck. What's the icon for???

It's there to make sure you are awake during the flashing/upgrade process

Updating now. Had trouble with 1.4 and lag. Hopefully this fixes it!

Don't quote me on this, but I believe if they're not in the dialer or contacts app, they're in blur-res.apk in the framework folder.

For some reason, I did not get the Swype keyboard. Can't find it in the toolbox either. I have ApeX 1.4.1---am I missing something?

Seems noone else is having this problem. When I do a hard press on the video in the gallery and then go to advanced editing it will play with however the notification bar is there as well as the edit functions. Any advise would be appreciated.

You mean you didn't use the zip file I posted on this thread a while ago to get the animation sound working??? I'm hurt Steven.....lol

On another note, glad you go that animation sound fixed Fabolous (it did startle me a little the first time I heard it.....lol)

It is the sync icon. Its on when things like contacts, email, and apps are being synced. It will stay on for a while after flashing a rom because the market has to restore all your apps.

If you replace the Boot animation where do you put the new one? System/Media? Or do you just replace the one in Data/local?

Also what do you set the permissions at? I just deleted the original Apex one and am trying to install a new one without any luck....

Put it in /data/local with permissions: rw-r--r--

I just tried that and then rebooted and got nothing????? Any other ideas what I might have done wrong? I deleted the Apex one and also the mp3 in System/Media.... Should I not have done that?

There is a temp folder left in the Data/Local folder with I believe nothing in it. Should i just delete that as well?

It's weird cause with 1.4 i just put it in the System/Media folder and deleted the mp3 file and it worked perfectly. This time I deleted the mp3 file and then went into data/local and deleted the bootanimation and replaced it with a new one and nothing. I don't even get it when I put it in the system/media file either....
