brown goods truck = brown packaged shipments from the DC
I wasn't referring to UPS actually...

I'm just curious though, how would you know if a large shipment is coming? Drivers i'm sure only know where to deliver the packages not whats in them or future deliveries... that wouldn't make sense to tell drivers that, i mean if they want to schedule drivers for a special delivery for a large shipment, i can see that happening then but that really doesn't make any sense... (no pun intended :p)

we get a report on saturday about the next 2 weeks in advance for the companies we deliever to that way the terminal and the drivers can decide if it will fit on the trucks or it has to go on a tractor trailer....im fedex ground its alittle more than just loading a truck and dropping off hell we even get crime area reports!

Home screen unfortunately doesn't have landscape view but the apps and the rest of the UI does (like the keyboard and menus)

We'll get landscape for the home screen at some point since its rooted already :D
But of course i could be wrong and the production version of the phone will have it, never know ;)

I was thinking somebody at the bb distribution center. Like a supervisor or somebody on the inventory team. Generally any store employee can call up and ask about a specific item. You'd have to ask by SKU because I doubt there's an easy way to search "Thunderbolt" in the warehouse management system.

Our warehouses usually don't see phones.

Basically the droid_life tweet was

@droid_life Droid Life
Don't want to freak you out, but received a tip suggesting that Best Buy is calling people to re-pre-order because of a delay until March.

See why i said i wasn't going to post it now? because IT TOO doesn't make any sense.

updated with actual tweet (word for word)

Oh well I wonder if they will accept a return on my gift card or will we have to buy another lol yeah senseless

I think the reason for that is because Drop Shipments are direct to the store from either the vendor or the manufacturer.

In this case, HTC or Verizon would be sending the ThunderBolts
but if those purchase orders are real, a Vendor called Reliance is the one responsible for sending them out via Drop Shipment (aka FedEX)
so they would not even be distributed to a distribution center for BestBuy to receive them on a "brown goods truck" aka Weekly stock replenishment (NOT UPS lol)

So I went back up there, and I asked about the inventory, he said there not in the inventory as of yet, plus he said he was the one that put them in there and said there was enough for the pre-orders. There in the bottom of that display case he told me. he had no reason to lie, he a good guy and was sincere. Oh almost forgot said he was expecting another shipment tomorrow of product.

Maybe all of our negative karma is making the delay happen lol
i mean, we do have over 1,000 posts on this thread

so maybe if we start thinking positive like the 28th (sooner rather than later)
we might make out fine

I'm still holding onto hope for the 24th (preorders through Verizon maybe is why the 24 and 28th are both mentioned)

24th - preorders
28th - shipments are sent out with the street date for Verizon retail stores set for maybe March 3rd? i'm trying to be optimistic . . .its very hard to do lately with all the rumors we hear
