Best Buy Details

, when I asked why, she said that this whole launch has nothing do with 4G problems and is all about minimizing total returns of IPhones.

Basically saying the Iphone is why we are having to wait.

F Verizon. I'm returning my X every 14 days, (3 different BB's and maybe a Costco) until this phone comes out. Hope they hurry!
If it's not 250.00 I'm done with this phone. Hop the X2 comes out soon.

he says Thursday, March 3rd seems to be it

if you don't notice, its a launch party event (probably for Verizon employees only or Private press with a embargo to not release any info until a certain day.

In this link the guy states that he is "Very Confident" about launch being on March 4th.

Also, see here Roseville Best Buy Says Thunderbolt Delayed Until March 4th? | Android Phone Fans

man that dude got to play with the real deal

I'm VERY confident myself that this was a launch event for Verizon employees or press, how else would he be able to get his hands on it, take a picture and find out what the release date would be

having the real deal in his possession is more than enough proof

I don't have 100% confidence its the 4th though, thats a friday, but Verizon has done major launches on a Friday before, they did for the LG Voyager i think when it was touted as "the iPhone killer" back when it was first announced, because of the front touch screen and all that, when it wasn't even close lol I still have mine :p

EITHER way, the third pic proves its a Verizon event, the 4G LTE logo is spotted there

and in the second pic, the ThunderBolt is sitting on a lit up stand,
hmm, where else would you see such things?

i've got a TON more confidence this guy is right its next week, but not sure which day

at this point, i am imagining that the phone must've been having some obvious functionality issues that had to be fixed. they are working to ensure it's not a problem before they ok the launch. market pressure (competition, public opinion) has reached a point that they would release the phone if it were essentially working well - even if certain functions weren't perfect, such as skype mobile.

vzw's previous hints at an ahead-of-schedule release date allude to the possibility that they initially thought the phone was ready and were responding to market pressure. clearly, that is not the case. reports tend to say that verizon is merely making sure their first 4g phone is perfect, but i think it's more like they want to make sure they don't go into battle with an unloaded weapon.

probably another worthless theory.

I agree 100%.

How does the TB cost $299 while the Atrix is on Amazon for $129 now?

What are the differences that make this phone cost twice as much?

The Difference is ATT vs Verizon.

ATT is selling the Atrix Cheap to make up for the customers lost and customers that will be lost since they are no longer an exclusive iphone carrier.

Verizon has a strong following and knows that people will still buy their phones even if they don't subsidize the phone as much as ATT does.

My guess is because AT&T has those expensive accessories such as the Webtop attachment and TV dock, so while they know they would have a huge profit on those they could sell the phone for cheaper to better compete with Verizon's offerings

The fact the ThunderBolt doesn't have such an accessory makes Verizon have to improvise on that to make up for the cost difference on subsidized pricing, if you recall the cost of the unit for Verizon is around $500+ and even if it sells for $299 ($249 after $50 savings at BestBuy) They would be losing money off it...

then on top of that, Verizon is likely going to be offering unlimited LTE at no extra cost at launch, so the price is highly justified since both Sprint and AT&T charge a premium for data,

AT&T charges on a tiered scale
Sprint charges an extra $20 (with the $10 data premium)

Those are my theories anyway

release what to stores?

My guess is he's referring to the accessories and stuff

Do you think it means "Wow, this phone is kicka$$!" or "Wow, our customers are SERIOUSLY pi$$ed at how long it has taken to release this phone!" lol

Wow could be the meaning of the event
its likely to say "LTE is going to WOW customers"

but then again, the phone also has SRS Wow lol but i'm leaning more to the 4G part
