New Forum member

Hi! I'm a new forum member.

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy Tab, my first Android device.

I am a developer of Cloud video editing software, used almost exclusively for Broadcast and company websites via web browsers. I bought the Galaxy Tab because it is the first mobile device for sale in the UK which you could (if you wanted!) do sophisticated editing on as a consumer: it's bigger than a phone and has a camera and an internet connection.

So I'm partly here to find out if there is any demand for video editing and - as we are now moving towards making a phone version too - which phones would people like it optimised for?

As it happens, we do all the processing on the client - and give full frame rate video on the Samsung.

I was one of the first real time video ARM programmers, back in 1987, and was making full frame rate video editing software since 1990 on an ARM 3. So you can imagine, a modern Tablet ARM A8 Cortex at 100x faster actually fast enough if you know what you're doing. We may need some more optimisations for the slower phones though!

You can sign up the web version for free here: Clesh: Showreel (make sure you run the Pro version of the software if you are given the choice) - and I've put up a few videos of it working on the Samsung tablet there too.

Edit: PS On the (Java) web version, it renders the videos as it plays them so you don't have to wait for render. On the Samsung, there can sometimes be a delay of a few seconds to get started, but the Neon co pro is waiting for our next batch of optimisations here!
