Tired of waiting for the Thunderbolt, bought this instead.

I see you have a fond love for locked bootloaders.

I wouldn't buy a phone before I played with it first and that's the case with the Thunderbolt, Bionic, or Revo. Which ever one I like the feel of is the one I will get.

As for the bootloader I have faith in the devs and I am sure someone will fix that.

But I don't buy a phone based on whether I will be able to root/ROM it immediately. I root/ROM when the phone has been out for a while and hasn't got an update or when it has been out for a while and needs some boost to keep up with newer phones

Anyway I personally don't believe the Thunderbolt will come out for another 2 weeks to a month but I hope I am wrong.

And as I said earlier it is which ever one I like the most after playing with them. I may play with the TB and love it and hate the other 2 but we will never know until the phones come out.. if they ever do.

Was told last night when I went by VZW that it was going to be delayed to end of March/beginning of April. So yes I am mad because I was looking forward to getting it soon. TB is starting to sound like another phone, lets call it the Merge, that was rumored for VZW and had ads and then didn't come to VZW and still isn't there but is rumored...

...my OG Droid set at 900mhz is fast enough. I don't even see the point in a dual core processor in a phone, it's a battery operated device, you're just asking for trouble. I wish these people would think from an engineers standpoint rather than a marketing standpoint. It's not the clock speed, it's the architecture. You can have a 1,200 horsepower Supra, but with that IRS in the rear, you ain't gonna do nothing but spin your wheels. Now if you set it at a modest (HAH!) 700, and installed a straight axle..you'll be going somewhere in a freakin hurry, you'd destroy the nutjob putting 1200 ponies in a supra on a stock rear end.

..sorry, best I can think of. Speed is useless unless you can utilize it to the fullest extent.

And if you hit a bump in mid corner with that solid axle, you're going somewhere in a hurry while spinning ;)

Which device that came out last summer is getting Quadrant scores like the TB? Not the Evo...

To name a couple...
Evo--Snap Kernel with Turbo enabled
Galaxy S's--Lag fix enabled

I thought people stopped using quadrant after the galaxy S lag fixes showed it was unreliable. Did they ever fix it?

Use something like linpack instead.

I can't wait to see what some TB devs can unlock. It's going to be awesome!!

Tegra 2 gets things done without draining battery. Best Flash and PSX emulation performance of any released chipset- Flash and PSX are two apps that test any chipset for ability. Best litmus test- by far.

I have a Tegra 2 device. Looking forward to testing PSX games like Dead or Alive and Tekken 3 with a TB compared to my gTablet. THAT will be the real test for the TB :)

As far as 3D performance goes, it's Tegra 2 > PowerVR SGX 540(Galaxy S) > PowerVR SGX 530(Droid 2/X) > Adreno 205(Thunderbolt, G2, etc..) > Adreno 200(Nexus One, Incredible, Evo 4G).

For CPU performance, it is Tegra 2 > Hummingbird > 2nd gen Snapdragon(Thunderbolt) > current gen Omap > last gen Snapdragon.

I would think this is all common knowledge among enthusiasts but apparently it's not. I don't know why some of you guys are expecting miracle performance from the Thunderbolt when phones that are faster than it are already out.

I got tired of waiting myself, and bought this, although I think it's going back since it doesn't connect to my phone's Wifi hotspot.... Still, $99.00 isn't too bad a price. Mine's actually a Sylvania (see below).

Funny because I've contemplated selling my PS3 in order to get a better phone, and mostly because I have found that I don't play it that often. I watch Bluray movies more than I play games. Kind of sad too since I bought it with the Move bundle, have about 15 games for it (and haven't even played half of them), have 3 controllers for it, and 4 move controllers for it.

sell me your move and the games :)
