Help since full install (sprint did it on their computer)

now 2.2. My files when I link via USB never show SD card. It is installed and working. (also say no name on HD when I post it to my OSX desktop.)

Questions
1. Where is my SD card on file structure?
2. How to write and save apps to SD card from phone itself?
3. I had SD card issue prior to new build then did had reset and went to sprint where they installed 2.2 for me. Should I have done something else?

thanks epic world!:)

More info needed!

Are you mounting your card? Do you have the samsung drivers installed on your computer? Do you have another way 2 read ur sd card - not through the phone/usb cable)? If so - do you see your files then?

As far as question 2 - saving apps to the sd card - do you mean using Froyo's Apps to Sd Card? If so "settings"- "applications" "manage applications" then individually click each program and click "move to sd card".

Hope that helps a bit...

"No Name" is the default for any non-Apple storage device that appears on an OSX desktop; the icon is always white. Same thing with an SD card in a camera, non-Apple media player, e-reader or gaming handheld. That's never going to change until the OS itself changes.

Seeing No Name is always good news because it means your device has mounted normally (unless your drive was previously mac-formatted, named and visible with its icon -- then you have a problem). If you're not seeing any media or other platform-independent files when you open the folder, then what makes you think they're there?

You might also try using a utility (like Houdini or the preference window Secrets) to reveal invisible files.

On your computer and on the phone itself: What were you were seeing before you had Sprint do the upgrade?

If platform-independent files (mp3s, media, etc.) are present on your SD card, then you should definitely be able to see them on your computer and, therefore, on your phone.

On the phone itself: What do you see when you open File Manager?

Saxologist:

This is only relevant if you're still having USB card issues.

I was talking to a friend at Sprint and there appears to be an update they push to Epic users on Froyo with USB mounting issues -- the problem is not unique to you. Since you're stock, it might be worth it to call them, explain your issue and ask for the update. My understanding is that a Sprint person on the phone or at a store has to send it to your phone directly -- you won't see it otherwise.

Three other questions:

When you plug in the USB cable and select Storage on the three-button prompt, do you see an orange android graphic and a second prompt to continue? If so, what happens when you push that button?

Is USB Debugging Mode deselected in your preferences? I'd write out the path, but my Epic's in a jacket pocket in the closet near someone who's sleeping.
