Maybe it was verifying your account and just took forever, lol.

Mine's working today as well. As soon as I launched the VM app, it popped up the VM to Text notification and gave the option for the free trial. So, it seems that the problem was on the server side, which was unable to verify account info, and not with the ROM.

Which makes me very happy, cause I'm loving this ROM.

which restore option should i use? Restore all apps with data?

Just do restore all apps and then manually go and restore the data for just the apps you need the data, sometimes when changing between ROMS restoring the data can soe times mess things up. This could just be if you are switching between AOSP and Sense though.

Im loving this ROM already after seeing the message at the bottom of the screen after it unpacked unto my evo. "Dedicated to all the haters", then the Android with the 2 guns! classic. But i have a question, how can i restore all my backed up apps without having to keep pressing the confirm button?

I use MyBackup Pro, which does a batch restore, then all you need to do is restart. You can choose to restore the apk only, data only, or apk and data.

How much different is this ROM compared to his Ultra Froyo Unleashed? I just flashed Ultra Froyo and loving it! When I first posted here, it was to praise Ultra Froyo, but didn't realize this was for a different ROM.

This is just the second release of Ultra Froyo, this thread is for all of King's Ultra ROMs I just put the newest in the title/OP. The new version has some changes from the first, I would recommend upgrading if you want. If you want to see all of the changes go to the thread at xda and read the release notes compared to R1 release notes.

Got ya! I got my previous ROM link to XDA from the newly created list on here, then found this which had me all confused. Thanks for the info. Guess it's time to flashy flashy :) This is a really awesome ROM, especially with his themes. Hopefully the *few* things I didn't like, get fixed on this R2 (doesn't automatically import phone number from favorites for a sms, and sms icon doesn't have the notification pop-up).

I'm using Handcent for my text messages. I've got the mms app set to not auto-retrieve and to not display a message received notification. I've also used Titanium Backup Pro to freeze the mms app and mms widget.

However, when I receive a text message, I get a notification from Handcent and a notification which I believe is the mms app notifier (a black envelope). When I pull down the notification bar, and click on the notification from black envelope, it opens Handcent. The Handcent notification properly opens the app as well.

Am I mistaken that the black envelope notification is from the mms app? In previous ROM's (stock included), I would get both notifications until I went into the mms app and disabled the notifications as I mentioned above, then I would only receive the one from Handcent.

I've searched this thread as well as the thread on XDA, but don't see a similar issue.

Running Ultra 2 and Netarachy 4.3.2 SBC more havs.

Thanks for any input.

Just flashed R2, love it!! It's sexy as hell and it fits my needs perfect. just gotta test the battery life out on it. is there a set cpu already installed with profiles?

No setcpu is a paid app and is not supposed to be included in a ROM. The developer of the app asked ROM developers not to include it in their ROMs.

I would check and make sure that notifications were disabled, if they are go into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik.

Hey UTD, thanks for the suggestion. I've got some additional info....

I received a voice mail and just after that notification I received a notification from 9016. When I clicked on the link it opened up Handcent. So, it seems that it's not actually the mms app that is retrieving the message notification.

I found a post in the Cyanogen forum about texts from 9016. Apparently they are system message that need to be read by Sprint VVM as instructions to download the voice message. Strange that clicking on the notification brings up Handcent, but maybe it's just picking up all message notifications and directing it to my default Text app. It notes that you can use a program like Redlist to block the notifications. I'll give that a try later and report back.

Cool keep us posted also have you tried unfreezing the mms app, it may be one you can't freeze.

Well, Redlist worked to block the additional VM notification (from 9016 - but make sure to disable notifications in Redlist, or you'll get a notification that your notification was blocked). But, I'm still receiving a duplication notification when a text arrives. Since it's coming from the actual number that it was sent from (and not 9016), I guess it makes sense that that would still come through. But I still don't know why it's coming through Handscent and the other notifier.

I was able to un-freeze the mms app and it showed back up in my apps list. I opened the program and I still have all of the notifications turned off.

The only thing that I can think of is that there must have been something removed from this ROM that the stock app has to keep notifications from 9016 and text messages from automatically being sent. So, in the stock mms app, by turning on auto-retrieve messages and enable notifications, maybe you are changing a setting on Sprints end to go ahead and send those???? Because on the app now, it doesn't seem to change anything when toggling those options in the mms app. (Hopefully my reasoning makes some sense - even if wrong).

Any thoughts?
