no way for me... at least not right now. the only reason i am jumping on the t-bolt is because of the possibility of unlimited 4G for $30/mo. if they are going to introduce tiered pricing with it, there is no incentive for me not to wait for the bionic to come out so that i can compare both myself and decide which i like better.

I dont understand how they can charge for something that the majority of people won't have for a long time. The closest 4G to me is sacramento which is an hour and a half away and it wont be coming to where I live for a long time.
maybe if I brought that up to cs...?
I guess I could get the Droid x but that's not what I want!
And if mama's not happy, nobody's happy ;)

Something not adding up. On one hand VZW says tiered pricing starts with the TB and then they say tiered pricing will be during mid summer. Which is it?

If BOTH, the TB is not releasing until July (mid summer).

All moot, since if tiered, I will NOT buy a 4G device, since will NOT pay tiered data, That is stupid to me: Costs more and eats more battery. Looks like Bionic it will be.

I will keep my unlimited 3G plan. Word. If they take that, I will go back to Tmo. Wimpier coverage, but at least they give you flowers and a box of chocolates before screwing you over.

added:

BTW, given the delays and competition on the horizon- If this device launches with tiered pricing, it will absolutely FAIL.

I thought that all data plans were going to be tiered. Is it only 4G plans?
Now don't anyone give me a bad time because I don't know or it's already posted. I love this and other Android forums and learned a lot of tricks for my Moto-Droid but don't read them everyday, although I have been here a lot since they announced the TB. ( I so can't wait for this phone! )

I would still buy it on tiered, though. Looking over my history, even my husband who uses more data doesn't go over 2 GB.

You apparently do not do much Flash streaming :)

I do, so not practical for me. Still, if this device continues to be delayed and on top of that a tiered price structure with no 3G only unlimited option, I think the device will deserve the coin: Blunderbolt.

I think a window for unlimited 4G is not very likely, so folks getting the TB just to keep that may have little reason to buy the TB. Especially with several devices coming within a few months.

Ok, so it is starting to look like this phone isn't just around the corner anymore. If you guys think you are getting 4g for the same price as 3g, you are crazy. No way that will ever happen. Even if you do get grandfathered in, you won't be able to change anything about your contract without adding 4g.

Between this tiered pricing thing, and no launch date in sight, I am done with this. If there is no official announcement by noon tomorrow, I am buying a DX or Dinc.

you can get one of either for just a little more off contract. I'd suggest doing that and just waiting around to see what other phones come out shortly

I might not even mind paying more for 4G if I were to get that "all the time" it I'll never get it ( for a long time anyway) its kind of like paying more for faster internet.
I might just have to wait awhile. I was going to get the TB on my early upgrade and would lose out on my $100 anyway.
I have had absolutely no problems with my moto-D1 but want a bigger screen and I love my daughter's EVO. We travel and wouldnt leave Verizon because of the coverage

Agree if they arent going to grandfather then I will wait and go for the bionic. Verizon is just screwing this all up.

The whole point of 4G is FASTER data. If they charge you more as you use more, then what good was it to have faster data?

Its like getting a giant water pipe to your house, but being charged more per gallon. Whats the point?

Verizon may very well choke the 4G market before it develops.

If you can't simply explain the additional value of 4G, it will fail if it has a higher price than 3G. Does it let me talk better? No. Surf the web better? Not significantly? Can I stream videos better? Yes, but will cost you lots more.

Then its not worth it to most people.

Totally off topic, but yes, my town does charge more for a larger diameter water pipe, lol. The ability to get more water, faster, is an additional fee.

Regardless, I really hope they keep the current Unlimited plans at the current prices for the TBolt. If they charge a 4G-Tax, I'm out. (Not even close to a 4G area) If the TBolt comes with Tiered Plans, it will depend on the tiers.
