Root [ROM] Skyraider 3.5 (12-06-10)

I can't get the different toggles to switch; I use Root Explorer. I go into the /system/skyraider/widget.user folder, select "Mount R/W", edit custom file to the toggles I want (yes, I'm doing this part correctly), then I save. After saving, I go to back out of the file and my phone just restarts, and then the toggle changes aren't saved. Do I need to long press the text file and change its permissions?

Everything has been working great (minus the toggles in the notifications pull down), but from time to time I'll have issues downloading from the Market. It starts downloading, but it won't actually download anything, it just sits there like it's going to start soon and doesn't even show a percentage yet; it's stuck at "Starting download...". This typically happens when trying to update an application.

I have had this problem as well. Wasn't sure if it was SR or the new market. It seems to be the worst when updating a bunch of apps together. However, it has gotten better over time and I don't see the problem that much anymore.

This is the best ROM I have run to date. Zero issues!

My big issue is that I can't get the different toggles to change. I go in and edit the text file to what I want, but then it won't allow me to save; I exit and it asks if I want to save, but it doesn't actually save it. I'm sure that I'm missing something really dumb, I'm just not sure what.

Also, applications have issues updating in the market sometimes.

download ES file explorer and enable to root options in settings. Ignore the warning message and just select HiAPK as your ROM. Then edit the file using ES file explorer. Restart your device and the changes will be there.

Didn't work, I've tried it multiple times. : ( I'm beginning to think my ROM didn't install properly or something weird is going on with my phone. . .

Is anyone using Setcpu with Sky Raider? If so what settings to get best battery life? I am new to this and just trying to figure everthing out.

thanks for the help

I'm using it. Haven't tried other kernels, so I can't compare, but I am happy with the results. I also have profiles for max performance or max battery that override these, that I trigger manually if I need them, but I haven't needed to do that yet.

I'd say my biggest change is the circle battery gauge in the notification bar that gives me an accurate percentage number. This helps me gauge how much I have left, how much I've used recently, etc. so I can plan accordingly with charging. This is more of a mental thing, as opposed to constantly checking a live widget with graphs to see my power usage go up and down.

Kind of off topic but what battery icon is that? I have been looking for one just like that.

I have been using this ROM for about a month and I've been loving it, but I have been having trouble sending MMS messages in the stock HTC Messaging app. Anyone had any problems with MMS? Is there anyway around this other than using a different messaging app?

If you restored your Kmart messgae preferred with titanium then thus can be your problem but I seem to remember having mms problems with this Tom anyways. I have since moved on to cm7 nightlies. Way way better

From the link in the OP, second post in the xda thread. Download MMBatteries.zip to your SD card. install Metamorph from the market and open/install the zip file. It's one of the three themes in the zip, I think it's the first one. nandroid as always.

i actually like athena, it is sad that sky raider has decided to stop developing. i am a fan of sense(less) roms since i use launcher pro, athena and senseless revolutions are the only options to me. once i can see some better battery life from CM7 i plan on keeping that, too hard right now since there are like one or two kernels and they can break some functionality of the rom. skyraider will be missed.

I was on skyraider 2.5 until a few days ago. 3.5 looks really neat but I'm having a problem downloading apps from the market. I have to download each app twice before it will actually run. Anyone else seen this?

Yeah, I've noticed that apps don't download immediately and I have to click download at least twice before it actually downloads. It's pretty annoying but I'm loving this rom too much to want to switch.

Hmm, I'm having a slightly different issue. Apps that are stored on my phone will update successfully. Apps that are stored on my SD card will fail while installing (Unknown Error - 18). Moving the apps to phone storage will generally fix the issue, but not always. I'm on 3.5 and this only started happening in the past week or so.
