Root Developer's Team

Okay so what needs to be done?

First and foremost, unlocking and accessing the bootloader should be top priority, am I right? No way we're going to get anything done before doing that.

Then we'll need to develop/modify a ROM to put on the thing, and one that will work. I'd be particularly interested in the latest CyanoGen. If we did that, we could post our results back onto the CyanoGen website and hopefully it would turn into a full supported port.

EDIT: No I was wrong, the bootloader is accessible, but hell if I know how to do anything with it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-693669.html

Back from self imposed exile! My ECON class is done this upcoming weekend at which point I'll have ten weeks of "free" time at which I should be able to give this project a try.

We do need everyone to go into the internet and hunt down the SBF files and other basic tools. A lot of the links on the Devour Threads have expired, and without those files it'd be hard to get moving.

ps: I merged several threads that had parallel efforts or conversations into this particular thread. Redirects will expire in about a month but I figure by then people should know to come here to share knowledge, progress, or provide suggestions.

Thanks Yinz! :)

Back to Square One.

it seems that no one is working on this phone because verizon and motorola have both come out with something bigger and better which the devs are drawn too even more because the group that supports that specific phone is bigger.

why not check on the Droid X and see if it's possible to use any of those files and change something?

i'm not sure what to change, but it might be a lot easier than going from scratch, because i don't have an extra computer that uses Linux at all.

or someone can get a hold of a dev and see what they can do if it's possible.

i know twitter has devs that are on there, but i don't know how easily it is to contact them at all.
