Will be doing review for Clove - what questions are you looking to be answered?

Hi everyone,

I'm going to be writing a review when the SGSII comes out for the Clove blog, interested to know what questions everyone has for the review, and what they want to see demoed on video.

Let me know and I'll try to get through everyones questions in the review.

Will be a slightly different slant on the review than places like Engadget, in that I'll actually be using the phone as my fulltime handset, so if things like the GPS are amiss I should be far less likely to miss it than those reviews (real user feedback as it were).

Can't wait for this review and the phone.

- GPS
- Do all the advertised features work?
- Able to root and flash ROMs?
- Any lag doing average tasks? market, email, browsing
- What new features does it have over the Captivate?

I'll probably think of more. Any idea when it's coming to AT&T?

notification led? i heard there wasnt one but there are a lot of holes near the earpiece so im going to hope one of them is it

Is there a phone charm hole? Any fun extra back covers like the SGS1? Can you turn off the shake and tilt controls? How does it smell?

I don't think there is a notification LED, I think the things at the top are proximity and light sensors, and the front facing camera. Guess we'll know soon enough, but I suspect we'll be waiting for BLN to be available for the SGS2.

Correct.. No LED notifications.

It would be nice if you could verify if this device supports the rSAP BT protocol like its predecessor.

You know all anyone cares about is the release date... Feel'm out. This is the most anticipated device of Q2; it's March and we still have no idea when it's being released!

Well Clove have a release date of mid to late March...Expansys however say April, and play.com say May. Take your pick..

Will it work on Tmobile USA? It probably wont but can you find out if they plan to release one at Tmobile US?

T-mobile got the original Galaxy S one month after the international release and they were the first ones in the US to get it. They will most likely be the first ones to get the SGS2 as well. The international one will not support the 1700mhz AWS band that T-mobile has, so you can still use it, but you can only get 2G data speeds. The official T-mobile version will also be helluva cheaper, so just wait that extra month for the T-mobile release.

Pretty much ditto on all these. Plus:

- Video out and/or dock options
- Detailed camera specs

The most important:

what file system (is it still RFS)

strangely enough with the SGS:
the poor GPS is annoying but I can live with it, battery life is very strange sometimes I get 6 hours and other times I get 24+ hours :-o (well after Darky's 9.3 its more like 6-14hours...) but as previously stated its the lag that gets me down)

Want to show something on your phone, just want to quickly look something up, quickly check Movie theatres for what films they are showning... etc. "Oh... wait... juuust a second... oh its back... soon... oups thougt I didn't press 'cos it didn't react and now it's exited the app, gone to settings or opened another app making the phone even more non-responsive" :mad:

Per another thread and helpful info from NZtechfreak, the phone does support "cable only" video out - it implements the new MHL spec, which allows, video, USB (with an optional control interface). So we're good on that item:
