Please remind me why I even considered this phone in the first place....

I think just about everyone realizes that there are other phones right around the corner . Some with faster processors , some with better screens , some with more memory etc...

But while I havent seen as much as say the Revoltion or Bionic it seems like the Bolt does everything really well. And it for me it's the little things that I've missed on my Incredible mainly screen size . Biggest reason I won't be getting the Bionic is the locked bootloader I understand that it will most likely be just like the X and they'll get around it. But even if you put that aside and the Bionic was released unlocked I'd still go with the Bolt for some pretty small reasons but I feel that they would make my daily using experience better

-Sense
-Kickstand
-Rear Speaker

I realize that they are all small features but features I'd enjoy every day whereas having a Dual Core processor is something a person who doesn't play games on there phone wouldn't even notice
The only gripe I have is .. why no hdmi out?

DLNA :) and hopefully someone will make a hack so that everything can be seen, not just videos and pictures

Yeah I just bought an LG 52 inch tv and Samsung 50 inch 3D TV neither which has DLNA

I like the idea of anything wireless but most people don't have DLNA hardware but just about everyone has a HDMI port .... I'm hoping the usb port is also a video out like the Incredible but I'm don't think it is

WMP has DLNA capabilities, Xbox360, & PS3 do as well. PlayOn, in the market, can be used to make it work with a Wii. New BluRay players are coming with DLNA (and can be had for $100-$150). HTC has an adapter for your TV in the works as well.

Just offering what I know of so far - please correct me if I'm wrong, I'd love to know of more options.

Well, it's been a month for me, waiting for this phone, and now the excitement has died down. It's getting close to April and it seems that there will be phones coming soon that will outclass the Thunderbolt.

So, again, I can't even remember why I wanted this phone in the first place. What is it about this phone that will get me excited about it again?
My take...

As far as "phones coming out soon that will outclass the TBolt", that is in the eye of the beholder. One big reason I don't consider the Moto Bionic a contender is because it only has 512MB of RAM. Not nearly enough, IMHO. This is in comparison to the TBolt's 768MB of RAM. Dual core or not, I think you'd be right back into the "laggy phone" category quickly. Dual core processors take more RAM just to equal the performance of a single core system like the TBolt.

As for "soon", there are some Dual Core phones coming out late this year with 1GB RAM, then it will become a feature for feature match to determine the phone for you.

This has been done and redone, the Bionic has DDR2 RAM which is much faster than 1GB of DDR1 RAM so that is no comparison between the two phones.

Second of all, Android is built around having low amounts of RAM and the OS is designed to kill off apps as fast as possible to maintain enough RAM.

I am not going to bash anyone, but if you wanna get the phone with the outdated processor by all means have at it.

I am going to root the Bionic, or at least put in launcher pro and have my dual core phone ;) (which will be implemented in 2.4)

Awesome... Post over in the Bionic forum then.

Awesome... Post over in the Bionic forum then.

Ummm this is a thread about the HTC Thunderbolt and its competitors. The guy made a nonfactual claim about the Bionic vs Thunderbolt and I felt it was only fair that the correct information be put into the thread.

Don't tell me to go away just because you don't like the message man, makes you sound like an Apple Fanboy.

I was only trying to help, and the reason I am on this forum is because I am trying to determine if I want the Tbolt or the Bionic and thus I am looking for information. (regardless of the fact I am edging towards the Bionic, I could always learn something that makes me change my mind).

Fair enough...my apologies.
It just seems everyone is an expert on phones in theory...yet when it comes to actual testing in the real world, people think they have answers to questions they can't possibly yet.
i.e. Battery life on the Tbolt on both LTE and 3G, processing power and memory speed of phone a vs. phone b.

IMO...
Until you see real world results of actual release phones, not test or demo phones/devices....it's all speculation.

I for one...as many other members I'm sure...have had enough speculation and rumors.

You're basically talking about a phone that is FINALLY going to be released vs. a phone that hasn't yet...and scarcely been seen and or tested in obvious pre-production form.

Just too many unanswered questions (that can't be properly answered..btw) that's all.

I'm a fanboy of what works and works well for my needs. I don't care if it's a green martian, a bb or fruit.

There are other facts as well. The TBolt will launch with unlimited data for 30 bones.
Not sure if the Bionic will or not. If you're not a heavy user, who cares...if so...could be a selling/non-selling point.

Just saying....

Well if you want the Bionic, then get ready for some delays!!! and maybe Price Hikes too!!

Was just reading an article that was talking about how the disaster playing out in Japan is rapidly going to lead to shortages of key components (Especially memory and processor chips) for Phones, Tablets and Computers and that we would start to see these shortage in the next month and price hikes would likely come in to play as well.
