Help Rss ticker please read

I did a factory reset on my phone because my rss ticker was not showing the rss news feeds for my selected rss feeds. I made sure sleep time was off and it still didn't work, so I did a factory reset.

After the reset, everything worked well, the rss feeds were showing up and it looked good, then a little later it stopped showing the news feeds from CNN, FOX, etc.

Does anyone know why this is happening and do you know how to fix this problem without the chance or need of taking the phone back to verizon.

Thank you so much for you help, I appreciate any news and contributions that any of you guys have for me, and I hope they will be helpful to me because I would very badly like to fix the issue of my phone not revealing rss feeds of my choice.

I have not received any of my news in the ticker since Verizon updated to 2.1 update 1. Do you have that update?...Update to my previous. Verizon advised me to do the reset on the phone. After doing so and the firmware is still the 2.1 update 1 the feeds are back to normal. The tech from Verizon had no thoughts as to why it happened or any other trouble shooting ideas other than doing the reset, which is quite the pain to put everything back on just to get the feeds to work if you ask me. I shall see how long they work. Good luck.

I did do a factory reset and they began working alright, but now it switched off and I don't receive any feeds. I think this is definitely a firmware problem, and do you know of a way to get the previous firmware back onto my phone?

Thanks for the input.

Took my wife's Continuum in to the local Verizon store today, she had the same thing happen...lost her RSS feeds. They didn't even bother looking at the phone to troubleshoot or anything. They are sending a new one, service tech said a few poeple have come in with the same issue. Apparently there is no current fix/update available.

The problem is that the new update that they had about a month ago in February (the update for 2.1update1 firmware) must have had a bug in it, blocking rss feeds after a time. My brother also has a continuum and it shows the same problem. I took my phone back to the Verizon store for another reason (home button goes to desk cradle/car cradle if you were wondering) and I mentioned the problem about the firmware. The lady said that Verizon is supposed to release firmware 2.2 around March 18 supposedly, so hopefully that will cure the problem regarding the ticker.

I got my phone exchanged and luckily the firmware version on the phone was the version prior to the buggy new update, and as you can probably guess, the ticker worked like a charm ever since. So it is obviously the new update.

Hang in there, the new firmware will be available soon, and cross your fingers about it fixing the ticker. ;D

I'll look for it and edit this post if I find the link.

EDIT: found it! [ODIN] Stock DJ20 - xda-developers

So does my phone need to be rooted in order to use the Odin file or is it just an apk download that I can use to downgrade my phone?

Bye the way thanks for the responses so far to this post.. I'm glad it's an interesting topic.
