Has anyone tried one of those 1600mAh Replacement Batteries For the HTC Desire HD?

I've seen these retailing for as little as $0.01 on ebay but it looks like one of those too good to be true type of things.

Here's a link to one ...

I have the Seidio Innocell 1300mAh Slim Extended Life Battery for the HTC Inspire 4G on order but damn, I could get 30 of these little buggers for the price of the Seidio and even if they're half way decent, it would still be a helluva deal.

I'm wondering how legit is the 1600mAh

I found one of the same capacity, except it was located in the U.S.. I pulled the trigger. Hopefully it gives me a boost. If not, I'll pick up either a mugen or seidio 1300...

I did too, and it fits perfectly, and it has the same dimensions and thickness as the stock HTC Battery-

I got it yesterday in the mail, so I can't comment on it's peformance yet, but it was only $4.95, so even if it's doesn't perform any better I still have a spare battery for less than 5 bucks :) I am not spending 50 bucks on a battery, that much I know, I've done that before, then when I switch phones I'm stuck with a useless but VERY expensive battery ;)

For those folks with these 1600 mAh miracle batteries, from a terminal emulator app or ADB shell (root is not required), enter the command:

Code:
cat /sys/class/power_supply/battery/batt_attr_text

The number you see listed as "FULL(mAh):" is the real capacity that the battery is reporting to the OS. I'm guessing that no one will see a number much greater than 1230.

The CHINA battery states 909mAh (full)
and 321 (ACR)

These are the ones off Ebay that state 1500-1600mAh.

Battery is at 35%.

This battery has held up over 24 hours with moderate phone calls and wi-fi....

so, NO, they are not full capacity, but not bad for spare(s).

I'm new to this forum but I thought it was for the Inspire 4g. Does the Desire have the same footprint as the Inspire?
Are the batteries and chargers compateble? Is anybody else having a problem removing the battery cover? sorry for the noob questions.

Thanks in advance for your help :)

you haven't been reading the thread, have you? :->

I have bought from two sellers, they are the same batteries.

they say 1600mAh, but the actual capacity is FAR below that.

they are ok for an ocassional spare, but the two I have didn't charge up to about 909mAh.

A terminial emulator will reveal the full capacity

One lasted about 6 hours, the other lasted about 7.5 (of fair/moderate use).

Better make sure you check the SHIPPING in any .01 EBAY auction.
Sure, they'll sell it to you for 1 cent, but then, the shipping is $10.
There are number of these auctions running, and they are against Ebay policy. They do this to prevent paying a FINAL VALUE fee on the ending price of the auction.
