Root Serendipity 6.0 is IN THE HOUSE

Odin'd back to stock and then loaded 6.1 this morning then converted the kernel to Paragon. Speed is notably faster than 5.12 w/ Paragon kernel (to me at least).

I am noticing a couple strange things though:

(1) When I connect to my computer via USB I'm getting a message on the Cappy saying "Security policy restricts use of external SD card". Never had that before and it doesn't seem to stop me fro mdoing anything I've needed to do.

(2) the "clear" button on the notification window now says "%-I%P"

(3) anytime the system re-scan the internal and external SD cards it flashes "01234....WXYZ" in the notification bar

I did the same thing as you reinbeau, but Im still not getting results. could it be the paragon kernel?
No, I'm on the SpeedMod kernel. I just used it to navigate to a friend's house I'd not been to before, it worked well. What have you done to your GPS, what settings or programs have you applied?

ETA This just occurred to me. Those of you who have had no luck with Serendipity 6.2, when you restored your devices (probably using Titanium Backup, but I don't think it matters), did you restore system settings? There are too many of us having relatively good, or the same, GPS with 6.2 as we had on the version 5's - and too many who aren't. There's got to be a reason, and I'm thinking it's something in the system settings that's being restored.

If you are going to reflash to try to fix this, only restore apps and data, no system settings, and see if that makes a difference.

Hmm it might be the system settings being restored using TB. I'll give it another go next time. I just switched to back to speedmod after flashing to paragon. for some reason the battery life drained 80% in less than 8hours while I was sleeping. And the weird thing was that nothing was running besides my alarmdroid app. No wifi or anything else.
Thank god i woke up before my usual alarm today, otherwise I wouldve been late for school

I'm on Serendipity 6.3 now. I came in from Cognition 4.0. This time I used the AIO Captivate toolbox to install the rom. It works really great, makes it much easier to install a rom. So far, I really like Serendipity there are only a few things I noticed.

First, I had to use the Rom Kitchen on the website to get back the unthemed gmail. The theme was cool, but it was hard to read my messages. I kept the black themed Market though.

The speed is great, and the GPS works MUCH better, and the Camera actually works much better as well. Turning off GPS will also actually disable location tagging in the Camera app. (Before it would tag location based on wifi as well unless every single location option were turned off).

One thing that annoys me is the lack of a scrollbar slider now in the Contacts. It used to have a scrollbar slider on every other rom including all the stock.
