Help Is my Captivate past the point of repair?

So I was flashing a rom to my Captivate using Odin3 and it seemed like it finished and the phone reset but after it turned off it just sat there and now it is completely unresponsive. I had been working with it for a little while before and got into a "soft" brick with the phone..!..computer screen but I was able to get it back into download mode and used odin to get it back into a functioning state. That is when I went back to flashing and now this... I've been researching other Captivate bricks but almost nobody seems to be at the point where the phone does absolutely nothing. Yes, I've tried all the button combos, removing the battery/sim card/ sd card, playing with the usb cable (plugged into the computer and the outlet) and nothing I do provokes any response from the phone. I haven't tried a jig but I'm not sure if it would do anything considering my phone isn't turning on at all.

Am I screwed?

Not sure if you tried the method of opening Odin on the PC, taking out the battery (and SIM, microSD), plugging in the USB cable to phone and PC, holding volume up and down, then put the battery in with volume up and down held in.

If that doesn't put the phone into download mode, read this How to unbrick the totally bricked Captivate - xda-developers

Making the jig might be the only thing outside using JTAG to get the phone recovered.
