just realized something...

I installed google earth on my phone.. then i realized I cant zoom out?! you need multi-touch.

I remember seeing a thread about Rogers users now can get it. but I couldnt figure it out.

can anyone be so kind to link me the download for it?

I remember I tried hooking up SEUS and or Pc companion (cant tell the difference between them still) and it said Im all up to date for installs/updates. there is nothing else I can do.

I rooted with Z4 root. and I have titanium back up/super user on my phone if that helps. not sure what rom i am using though

thanks so much... would LOVE to get the Multi touch thing going

I would assume that you could only get the MT update from SEUS if your running the offical Rogers 2.1 ROM.

I was able to get the update with the Rogers 2.1 ROM while rooted with Z4 Root.

Official Rogers Rom reads
Firmware Version: 2.1-update1
Build Number: 2.1.1.A.0.6

^what they said. I too was rooted with Z4Root when I updated to the DT ROM but I was still on the SE ROM. If you are using another ROM, SEUS and PC Companion won't recognize your firmware as needing an update.

i just dont want to repair it and lose everything... then cant find the latest update :(

If you have xRecovery, make a backup with it before you try a repair, so you can get back to what you had if this doesn't give you the update. Also, use something like MyBackup Root so you can backup your contacts, apps, text messages, etc. So they can be restored as well (whether you get the update or not). This way you won't lose anything if the repair doesn't work.

the stock backup and restore doesnt work well? it says it backs up texts, market apps and contacts. thats all I really need. dont want to lose texts or contact numbers. apps are a bitch to lose and try to remember what you had and DL them all again but i can live with it.

the stock back up that comes with the phone seems easy to use and implement.

Oh, it works fine. I thought for some reason that you were using a 2.2 ROM (which the stock Backup and Restore doesn't work on) when suggesting MyBackup Root.

If you're just sticking to 2.1 then use the stock one by all means. xRecovery does pretty much the same thing (though I find that it works better and is more reliable).

ya I wouldnt mind a fresh start again. Im having some issues with the phone restarting itsself and some texts not getting through (although with the texts i called rogers and they reset something and it seems to be better now).

i feel my phone is really cluttered.

I dont think I really need to be rooted in all honesty. I think the only reason why I would want to root again is to be able to delete the moxier stuff and timescape etc.
